1 About This Guide

This guide is the starting point for the installation of or upgrade to SAP S/4HANA Finance. It is meant to help you decide which components are required for your installation or upgrade and will guide you through the various steps. Detailed information available in the SAP S/4HANA Finance user assistance is referred to in this guide as well.

NoteSAP S/4HANA Finance 1605 is a modifying add-on that replaces existing classic Financials functionality delivered with SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 8 with new functionality. From a technical point of view, it replaces the SAP_FIN 618 component with the SAP_FIN 730 SP03 component.

3 Deployment Options

3.1 Introduction

The following deployment options are available:

● SAP S/4HANA Finance back end only● SAP S/4HANA Finance back end with SAP Fiori for S/4HANA Finance

3.1.1 SAP S/4HANA Finance Back-End Only Deployment Option

This deployment option requires the installation of the following components:

● SAP Accounting powered by SAP HANA● SAP Cash Management (optional)● Profitability Analysis● Central Finance (optional)

NoteSAP Cash Management is app-based and requires the installation of SAP Fiori for S/4HANA Finance apps.

NoteThe installation of SAP HANA Live for S/4HANA Finance in the back end is not required anymore, unless you plan to use HANA-based analytical apps.

Use

This deployment option requires installation of the following components:

● SAP Fiori for S/4HANA Finance● SAP Smart Business for S/4HANA Finance● SAP HANA Live for S/4HANA Finance (for most SAP Smart Business for S/4HANA Finance apps)

Prerequisites

● You have installed the back-end components for SAP S/4HANA Finance.● You need to decide whether you want to install the SAP Netweaver Gateway server on a separate server (hub

scenario) or in the back end (local scenario)

4 Installation of and Upgrade to SAP S/4HANA Finance

4.1 Installation of SAP S/4HANA Finance

For more information about the minimum requirements and the installation options of SAP S/4HANA Finance, see chapter Installation and Upgrade of SAP S/4HANA Finance, subchapter New System Installation, in the Administrator's Guide for SAP S/4HANA Finance.

4.2 Upgrade to SAP S/4HANA Finance

If you upgrade the SAP S/4HANA Finance back end, you need to perform a data migration too.
