Getting Started with Moodle 2 A cheat sheet for teachers: 1) Request a course. To request a course in Moodle, simply browse to http://moodle.fsd38.ab.ca and click the link at the bottom of the screen. Complete the form making sure to identify which school you work at in the “Reasons for requesting” box at the bottom. (This is critical so that your course gets filed in the correct space). Within a day you will receive an email welcoming you to your new course. 2) Set up enrollments: The easiest way for students to enroll in your Moodle classroom is to have them self enroll. With self enrollment, you set a secret password for your course called an enrollment key. The first time a student visits your course they will be prompted for this key. If they enter it correctly, they will appear on your class list and have access to your Moodle. To set this up: 1) From the settings panel on the left of your course page click the arrow next to Users to expand it. 2) Click the “Enrolment Methods” link (words, not the arrow). 3) Click the Self enrolment Edit button.
