48 minimum total credits required
All students must complete a math or physics course in their junior or senior year
Core 40 is the state’s default diploma
To graduate with less than a Core 40 diploma, the Indiana Department of Education requires a formal meeting between the student, parent and counselor during the student’s senior year

Complete all C40 requirements Earn 2 additional C40 math credits (Pre
Calculus, Statistics, Calculus or Finite Math) Earn 6-8 Core 40 world language credits (6
credits in one language or 4 credits each in two languages)
Earn 2 Core 40 fine arts credits Earn a grade of a “C-” or better in courses
that will count toward the diploma Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B) or higher
C40 WITH ACADEMIC HONORS
Complete one of the following:
A. Complete AP courses (4 credits) and corresponding AP exams
B. Earn a combined score of 1750 or higher on the SAT critical reading, mathematics, and writing
C. Score a 26 or higher composite on the ACT
D. Complete dual high school/college credit courses from an accredited postsecondary institution (6 transferable college credits)
E. Complete a combination of AP courses (2 credits) and corresponding AP exam and dual high school/college credit course(s) from an accredited postsecondary institution (3 transferable college credits)
C40 WITH TECHNICAL HONORS
Complete all requirements for Core 40 Complete a career-technical program:
6 or more pathway credits Earn a grade of “C-” or better in courses
that will count toward the diploma. Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B) or
higher Recommended (not required):
Earn 2 additional credits in mathematics and 4-8 credits in World Languages for four year college admission
C40 WITH TECHNICAL HONORS
Complete one of the following:Earn a state-approved, industry-recognized
certification (i.e. IT Essentials – IC3 Certification)
Complete dual high school/college credit courses in a technical area (6 college credits)
And one of the following:Any of the AHD options (i.e. AP cr./exams)Score at or above the following levels on

EARLY GRADUATION
In order to graduate early students must:
apply for early graduation 14 weeks before desired graduation date
meet all graduation requirements
have a minimum of 48 credits
pass both the Algebra and English 10 ECAs

WORK-BASED LEARNING
Work experience must relate to career pathway
with a minimum of 4 credits earned in the pathway work experience before senior year Pathway class must be scheduled in each

Many colleges schedule visits to THN and you may sign up to see the college representatives.
A list is posted of colleges visiting….usually the visits begin in September and are continually scheduled throughout the year. You may sign up to see the representatives in the Guidance Office. Our Guidance Office receptionist is usually there for students to sign up to see college representatives. The lists are on the front desk for you to sign up on a college representatives list.
