WHAT WE’VE ACHIEVEDWith the support of councillors and the community, Hunter’s Hill Council has commenced an exciting program of reforms.The work is aimed at: reviewing and streamlining processes across the organisation, utilising contemporary technologies, reviewing and instigating shared service arrangements, improving governance and providing a new standard of customer experience.Improvements will continue over the next 12 to 18 months so that we can continue to provide the best possible service for our community.

EnvironmentWe’re committed to preserving and maintaining the unique natural environment and heritage of the local area. • 1000 natives planted in bush

regeneration program.

• 200 tree preservation orders processed.

• Parks mowing frequency targets achieved - less than: every four weeks in summer; every six weeks in winter.

• Park toilets cleaned twice a week, rubbish collected daily.

• Activation program in Gladesville commercial precinct - public art, lighting, paving and food trucks.

• Dinghy racks installed at De Milhau Road and Ferdinand Street.

• 100 swimming pool inspections.

• 298 inspections of food premises.

• 520 commercial health and building standards inspections.

SustainabilityWe’re committed to sustainability initiatives and delivering on service targets.

• Secured $1.5million in grants for the local area.

• Missed bin collections reported to our waste services hotline to be actioned within a one-day target.

• In-ground parking sensor technology and app trial to monitor parking within Gladesville.

• Promoting the Garage Sale Trail event.

CommunityThe community is always at the heart of what we do. We’re committed to working with, and for, all in Hunters Hill.

• $13,430 in community grants shared among 18 groups in 2018/19.

• Delivery of Council’s events program including Moocooboola, Young in Art, Carols, New Year’s Eve, Australia Day citizenship, ANZAC Day commemoration and the Hunters Hill Art Exhibition.

• Support of a broad program of community events including Seniors Week, RHHSO Children’s Concert and the Gai-mariagal Festival as part of NAIDOC week.

• Delivery of new website.

WHAT’S COMING UPWe have more than $2.5million in capital works on track for 2019-20. These include footpath repairs, roadworks and pedestrian safety improvements as well as making child care centres, public reserves and the Town Hall more user-friendly.

This program of projects is about delivering on what you have told Council are priority services for the Hunters Hill local government area.

Woolwich BathsThe small harbour beach at Woolwich Baths is a popular spot for families with young children.

Upgrades are scheduled for the tidal baths. This will involve: replacing and painting damaged railings and posts; replacing damaged and tightening loose deck planks and; repairing piles.

Town HallThe Hunters Hill Town Hall, located on Alexandra Street, is home to the main Council Administration Centre and the Hunters Hill Historical Society Museum.

It’s a hub for Hunters Hill theatre and music, as well as a range of community events including art exhibitions, a volunteers’ morning tea and mayoral ball.Building works include roof restoration, air conditioning and maintenance improvements.

Early childhoodRiverside Preschool and Gladesville Occasional Child Care are among a range of children’s services offered in the Municipality of Hunters Hill.

Works to upgrade and maintain the buildings in which these services are offered include structural investigations and reporting, as well as painting, landscapingandroofing.
