Getting Books & VideosFrom the Library
You have already used the catalog correctly. You have found your book or video or whatever and now you want it.
How do you get it?
This tutorial will show you how to find materials in the AUR Library and how to avoid some of the major pitfalls.
To find something from the library, you must know:
1. its call number2. its location3. its loan status4. how it’s available
Find out all of this in
You can find out all of this in the catalog record, in the Local Holdings section shown in an individual record.
First, it’s important to understand what to avoid.
When you do a search and get more than one record, you will not have enough information to get the book. You must click on an item you want!
You don’t know if this is on loan.
This could be in Reserves, in Reference, or someplace else.
By clicking on an individual record, you can see the Local Holdings section. You may have to scroll down to see it all.
It will tell you where it is, if it’s on loan and what it is.
Plus a little more.
