Do I require a trial license key?

No, you do not require any license key for the first 30 days trial. StoreGrid's Service Provider Edition Trial installation has a 'Trial Customer’. StoreGrid client installations can backup the data without requiring any trial license key.

Which means that you can have unlimited clients backing up for 30 days without requiring license keys.

If you wish to add more customer groups to test StoreGrid, you need a license key (Please apply for the license key at: http://www.vembu.com/storegrid/data-backup.html)

Does the trial license support MS Exchange and MS SQL backups? How do I test them?

Yes, the StoreGrid trial version supports MS Exchange and MS SQL backups. You will find detailed instructions to backup MS Exchange server in our help documentation here. http://www.vembu.com/storegrid/helpStoreGrid supports backup of Microsoft Exchange servers using two types of plug-ins: Basic Plugin and Advanced Plugin. The trial version has the Advanced Plugin functionality included. The Advanced plug in is much more flexible and efficient while backing up MS Exchange servers. It supports backup of storage groups in entirety, as well as individual mailboxes within the storage groups. Note: that with Microsoft Windows 2008 servers, basic plugins for Exchange backup will not be supported as Microsoft is deprecating the NTBackup utility.

If you opt for 'no branding' or 'basic co-branding' then you can continue to use the trial installations in production once you buy the licenses.

You could simply apply the new build over your existing one and everything will work as before.

What will happen if I purchase - should I re-install StoreGrid all over again? What will happen to the backups taken under trial licenses?
