Donations needed too! Coming soon in the church hallway will be donation tags listing

the items needed to make our program the best it can be. What you do: Take a tag (or

multiple tags!) from the wall, purchase or let us borrow the item, drop off the item(s) with

the tag securely attached by the date on the tag. That's it! This is a great way to contribute

to our VBS program if you can't be physically present to help out.

Cost: $35 per child (due by Wednesday May

22nd)

Ages: 3 years old (and fully potty-trained)

through entering 6th grade

VBS is coming and it's going to be

spectacular! We will be entering into a week

FULL of Kings, Queens, Knights, Damsels

and castles! Children will explore the stories

of King David, Esther & Mordecai, Nehemiah,

Jesus death & resurrection, and King Josiah!

STUDENTS (GRADES 6-8). GLS

STUDENT COUNCIL is hosting a

MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE on

Friday May 10th from 7pm to 9:30pm

and all Gethsemane family middle

schoolers are invited. The dance will

be in the gym and admission will be

$3.00 at the door. The theme for this

dance is “Glow in the Dark” and all

are encouraged to wear either neon

GETHSEMANE SUMMER CAMP

Explore, Play and Learn

Each week will feature a unique theme

with innovative activities and one or

more field trips per week. Swim

lessons, sports, cooking classes, outer

space, art, extreme week . . .we have it

all! From age 3 through the 8th grade,

your child will love Gethsemane

Summer Adventures. We have the

resources, educated, experienced

teachers, air conditioned gym, on-site

swimming pool, sports/archery

equipment, classrooms full of all things

“kid”, a professional teaching kitchen, a

library, iPads, a chapel & buses.

Additional information available in the

church narthex and on the table at the

back of the gym. Register by May 1st

and save $25.00 on registration and

receive a free nylon backpack.

BOX TOPS: According to the January church newsletter, we have almost 900 baptized members in our church. If each one of those 900 members clipped 10 Box Tops a month, that would be $10,800 for our school in a year. For a complete list of items which have box tops on them contact Jennifer May (jnfrmay@me.com). If you would like to help with Gethsemane’s Box Tops program, please let Jennifer know.

BUY A BRICK PROGRAM

We are raising money to PAVE THE WAY for future generations at Gethsemane Lutheran School. The bricks will be used to create a new patio around the flagpole. IT IS NOT TOO LATE to buy a brick or two! The first order of bricks has arrived and will be on display today. Order forms are available or call Donna Evans with questions 602-708-3496. You will definitely want to be included on this patio.

Please check out the Lost and Found box to see if we have found something you have lost. The box is on the table in the narthex. These items will be donated to Goodwill on May 20

th.

YOUTH CAR WASH! Saturday May 11

th from 8:30am to noon. All

funds raised go to support our youth.

NEW MEMBER CLASS meets Tuesday evenings at 7pm in the café. Childcare is available by RSVP.

Sign Up For Gethsemane Jr. High Summer Camp!!! It's that time of year again! Summer calendars are filling up but we would love for you to make space for this event. We will be traveling 15 miles east of Payson to Tonto Rim Christian Camp. Spots are limited so sign up today!!! Invited friends are welcome. SAM’S invites everyone in the congregation who are 55 years of age or older to join our group for fun, food, fellowship and Bible study.

On May 16th

we meet at church at 12:00 for potluck. Fried chicken is provided by SAM. Dishes to share will be discussed at the May 2

nd meeting.

Entertainment will be provided for the potluck! This is our last event before summer break. All members are invited to meet for breakfast during the summer if you wish. This will also be discussed and decided upon at the May 16

th
