This year, the Grade 3 and 4 students of École St. Cecilia School embarked on an exciting entrepreneurial adven-ture.

In partnership with BMO, the students learned about running a business and were given the opportunity to sell a product in order to make money to do-nate to a charity. Together with BMO, the students brainstormed ideas about products and business plans. The stu-dents also discussed various charities and decided to support The Alberta Children’s Hospital.

As a way to raise funds, the students came up with three money-making ideas and events. They sold water bot-tles with the school’s 50th anniversary logo to fellow students. They also set up a guessing jar (large gummy hearts) contest as well as a draw for a stuffed lion and $25 Toys R Us gift card. Lastly, the students held a movie night for the school community with dona-tions as well as popcorn and water sales going toward the project. In total, the students raised $2617.41 from this rewarding and educational project to donate to The Alberta Chil-dren’s Hospital.
