    As an Alliance Trust Savings customer, you have 24/7 secure online access to your Account(s).

    You can see all your investments, track performance, place orders to buy and sell funds as well as view your Account documents, including statements and valuations – all in one convenient location.

    To help get you started, we’ve put together this quick ‘how-to’ guide.

    Lost or forgotten your Personal ID and/or Password?

    You can generate a new Password/Personal ID by selecting ‘Can’t remember your Personal ID or Password?’ on the login page. We’ll then send a new Password direct to the email address/mobile number we have on file for you.

    Alternatively, your adviser can arrange for you to receive a Temporary Password by email.

    To log in, in the first instance your adviser will need to register your details with us. You will then be issued with a Welcome email confirming your Personal ID, you will also receive a Temporary Password by email and a Passcode by SMS.

    Your adviser will set you up with either Read Only or Full Access. This determines the online options available to you.

    Once you have the three items of information, simply click on the activation link provided in your Welcome email.

    You will be asked to change your Temporary Password to something more memorable (must be 8-12 characters long and must contain a capital letter, a lower case letter, at least one number and no special characters) and to answer security questions. You will then have access to the platform

    You can access all of your Accounts from the Home page. Here you’ll see an overview of your Account(s) and have the ability to download this information into a Valuation Report or a full X-Ray Report of all investments held. You can also view status updates for any requests that you have made such as transfers in, new applications, top-ups or change of details.

  • VIEW YOUR ACCOUNT(S)

    From the Home page, you can move through to your Account Summary page. Here you’ll get an overview of each Account, including the number of inclusive trades that you have remaining.

    You can also view your transaction history and download in Excel format. Plus, you have the added option of filtering this by transaction type.

    Transaction typesTransactions you can carry out will vary depending on the type of Account(s) you hold and whether you have been set up with Read Only or Full Access by your adviser. Some of these Transactions include:

    To help with your essential research, we offer an Investment Selector Tool. This tool is powered by Morningstar, one of the global leaders in investment research.

    You’ll find a comprehensive range of resources to support and inspire you in your investment decision making.

    You can search for Investments using the displayed dropdown options, or by the ISIN or investment name. Alternatively you can scroll through our full range of investments. Remember only funds are available for investment via your account and the available list can be found at www.alliancetrustsavings.co.uk/literature.

    You can select a number of investments to compare using the chart tool and by selecting the portfolio symbol you can place them into a portfolio in order to provide an X-Ray of the underlying investments.

  • You can easily fund your Account either with a transfer in from another provider or a singular or regular investment.

    Select the Account that you wish to top up from the Home page and choose Top up from the Transaction menu. You now have the option to input a single one-off investment, regular investment amounts or a transfer in from another provider. You will be requested to input investment instructions at this point. If you haven’t made this decision you should place this all as cash. There are options to set up withdrawals and adviser charges however, please select Next if these are not applicable. You will have a chance to review and read all documentation prior to submitting.

  • By direct transfer from your bank accountBefore transferring, you will need to let us know you are sending funds. You can do this by following the steps in the Top up section. Not doing this may result in us having to return the cash.

    You can make a payment into your Alliance Trust Savings Account directly from your bank account using the bank details below. Please note, we can only accept payments from a UK bank account.

    You can easily access both Pre and Post sales documentation from the main navigation on the Home and Account summary pages. Simply input the date range required. For ease this can also be filtered down by Account.

    ACCESS YOUR DOCUMENTS

    Consolidated Tax Certificates (for General Investment Accounts) are available after tax-year end and Contract Notes are added when a trade is completed. If you choose to reinvest your income, you will be able to view a Contract Note for each reinvestment.

    PLACE A FUND ORDER (FULL ACCESS ONLY)

    Switching Assets

    This should be used when you wish to switch a specific fund or simply buy/sell into or out of cash.

    − Click Switch into assets from the Transactions menu.

    − Select whether you wish to switch by percentage, amount of units using the Switch out by drop down. Enter the amounts in the switch out box.

    − Search for the fund to switch into using the Asset selector.

    − Enter the percentage to switch into the new fund and confirm you have read the KIID documents and click Next.

    − Check over the switch details and click Next.

    − You can view/download any necessary documents, click Next.

    − Complete the appropriate selections on the declaration and click Submit.

    − A pop up window will appear if the update has been successful.

    When you are ready to place a fund order you should select Switch into Assets. You can locate this option in the Transaction menu within your chosen Account.

    Funds are usually priced once a day (although some are priced weekly) and have a cut-off time for placing orders each day. This is known as “forward pricing” and means you will never know the trading price in advance.

    If you place your order after the daily cut-off time, you will typically trade at the next day’s price.

    We will confirm the price you paid in your Contract Note that is issued to you after your order is completed. You will be able to view all Contract Notes in the Account Documents section of the Account Summary tab on the main toolbar.

    MAINTAIN INVESTMENT STRATEGY (FULL ACCESS ONLY)

    This option should be used when you want to change your entire portfolio, whether that be to select new investments or a new model portfolio.

    − Click on the Maintain Investment Strategy link in the Transactions menu.

    − Click Add New Investment Strategy.

    − Using the radio buttons, select either Investment Model or Asset Selection.

    − If Investment model is selected, choose the required model from the drop down field and tick to confirm you have read the KIID documents. Click Next.

    − If selecting assets, use the search filters to locate the funds and add them using the tick boxes. Confirm if rebalancing is required. Allocate a percentage to each asset and tick to confirm you have read the KIID documents. Click Next.

    − Confirm that the new investment strategy details are correct and click Submit.

    − A pop up window will appear if the update has been successful.

    Please note that this will not change your current investment or instruct any trades. This will simply alter your investment strategy for any future investment received, or be used for any rebalance triggered on your Account.

    MAKE A WITHDRAWAL (FULL ACCESS ONLY)

    If you want to make a withdrawal, you have two options available. Maintain regular withdrawals for when you wish to receive a regular withdrawal or Ad-hoc withdrawals for one-off requests. You can locate these options within the Transaction menu of your selected Account.

    Maintain regular withdrawals

    Should be used when you require to start or amend regular withdrawals:

    − Click Maintain regular withdrawals from the transaction menu

    − Select your required frequency and either amount in pounds or percentage

    − You can choose to set up annual indexation if you wish either RPI or as a % annually

    − Your chosen bank account details should be entered or you can select bank account details you have already provided

    − Once you are happy select Submit which will prompt a confirmation message.

    Ad-hoc withdrawals

    Should be used for one-off withdrawal request:

    − Click Ad-hoc withdrawals from the transaction menu

    − Select your required amount in pounds

    − Your chosen bank account details should be entered or you can select bank account details you have already provided

    − Once you are happy select Submit which will prompt a confirmation message.

    Yes. When you are logged in, you are protected with AES 256 bit transport layer security – industry standard security that protects the web’s most important websites.

    How can I safeguard my Account(s)?

    Look after your security details – remember that our customer services representatives will never ask you to tell us your Personal ID and Password in order to access your plans. Your Personal ID and Password are the key to accessing your Account(s) and information online. You should keep these in a safe place, never share them with anyone else, and change your password regularly to ensure its security.

    How often is my Account updated?

    Fund prices update on a daily basis, overnight.

    Which type of investments can I select?

    You can select from over 2,700 funds from 100+ fund managers. You also have access to Fund-based Model Portfolios.
