  • What is The Geosphere? The geosphere is the portion of the Earth that includes the Earths interior; rocks and minerals, and the processes that shape the Earths surface.

  • What Cycles are Included in the Geosphere? Sedimentary-sedimentary rocks start from weathering and transport of existing rocks. Then deposition, cementation, and compaction form a sedimentary rock.Igneous-formed by cooling and crystallization of molten rock.Metamorphic-formed when heat or pressure are applied to other rocks.

  • What Interactions Occur within this Sphere and Why?Geosphere and AtmosphereHurricanes, tsunamis , volcanoes, and wave actionGeosphereVolcanic eruptionGeosphere and hydrosphereHurricanes, tsunamis, tectonics, erosion, volcanoes, earthquakes, and wave actionGeosphere and biosphereHurricanes, tsunamis, coal nutrient cycles, and volcanoes

  • Are There Any Layers or Physical Features in the Geosphere?1.Crust 0-40 miles- The crust is the surface layer of Earth.2.Upper Mantle 40-400 miles-Solid rock.3.Transition Region 400-650 miles4.lower mantle 650-2700 miles-Soft rock.5.D Layer 2700-2890 miles6.Outer Core 2890-5150 miles-The hot outer core is liquid iron7.Inner Core 5150-6378- Made of iron and nickel.

  • How do Humans Impact the Geosphere?Humans can impact the geosphere by mining or littering. When we are mining we are taking away things from the geosphere. Littering is harmful to the environment. Litter can attract rats and vermin and cause health problems. It can also harm animals and wildlife, and ruin the quality of water when thrown into rivers or lakes.Polluted water isnt safe to drink, and polluted soil cant grow plants to eat.
