Hi, my name is Oren and I am raising money and
awareness for hearing loss.
Hearing loss can affect the lives of children & adults, & can make many ordinary day-to-day activities a huge challenge. Walking, running,
driving, working, and participating in sports can be very hard for people with hearing loss.
On May 16, together with family & friends, I will be walking to raise money for the
Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA).
By participating in this walk, I hope to
raise awareness of the difficulties many people affected by hearing loss face every day.

Dear Parents/Guardians:
Our school has had several students with streptococcal infections.
In its typical form, the infection is manifested by sore throat, a red pharynx and white spots (pus). Some children may have fever or sore throat alone, or have nonspecific symptoms such as headache, nausea, or vomiting.
A child having a positive strep culture should be treated with an antibiotic for the full number of days as directed by the physician. Before returning to school, the child should be on the antibiotic for twenty-four (24) hours and have been fever free for twenty-four (24) hours: Rectally: under 100 degrees
Orally: under 99.5 degrees
Axillary: under 99 degrees
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Fanelli, the School Nurse at 664-0567.
Sincerely,
Mr. Donald E. Bergamini Principal

Concussion Management Program
ImPACT & Balance Baseline Testing
2 Dates: April 21, 2015 May 6, 2015
2 sessions 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM The Kraft Center, 15 Essex Road, Paramus
3rd
Floor Computer Lab
This valuable service is being provided by The Valley Hospital Sports Institute for local youth sports participants. Football, girls and boys soccer, and lacrosse are contact sports with the highest risk of head injury - including concussions. ImPACT (Immediate Post Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) is an innovative computerized evaluation system that assesses the effects and severity of a concussion and helps determine when it is safe for an athlete to return to contact sports following a concussion. The new Biodex BioSway Balance testing unit is now available and provides for a psycho-motor assessment of concussion injuries. This test takes about 5 minutes and the baseline information stored, will be readily available for comparison to assess the extent of a concussion and the athlete’s readiness to return to activity safely. Baseline testing is suitable for athletes ages 10 and older. Testing includes a battery of computerized neurocognitive evaluations, including measures of verbal and visual memory, attention span, brain processing speed, and reaction time and balance. If an athlete experiences a concussion, he or she is re-tested and the baseline data is compared to the post-concussion data to monitor recovery and to help determine when it is safe for the player to return to active sports
*** Pre-Registration is required. Fee: $25. Space is limited.

You are cordially invited to the 4th Annual PHHS Science Exploratorium!
at Pascack Hills High School
Montvale, NJ
What is the Exploratorium?
The room is set up with about 20 stations. At each station, small groups of 5 - 6 students can explore a single physics concept by a combination of hands-on demonstrations & experiments, discussion with knowledgeable experts, and vibrant displays.
When is the Exploratorium?
Wednesday May 27, 2015, from 4:00 - 5:30 pm
Where should we go to experience the Exploratorium?
Pascack Hills High School Cafeteria, 255 W. Grand Avenue, Montvale, NJ
Who can visit the Exploratorium?
While the target audience is 7 - 10 year olds, anyone is welcome to investigate the Exploratorium. Adult supervision is required! Scout troops are encouraged to attend... a great way to get your Science Fun Patch!
What is the cost?
We ask for $1 per child (no fee for adults) in order to cover the costs of any take-home projects. This can be paid at the door.
How much time should we plan for our visit?
You can tailor the time of your visit to the age and interest of your children. The maximum time is 1½ hours.
Who is creating the Exploratorium and interacting with the kids?
The Exploratorium stations are created by science students from Pascack Hills High School. This is a culminating project to demonstrate their mastery of one physics topic
that we have studied or an investigation into a topic into which they have a special interest.
Do we need to register ahead of time? While not required, it is greatly appreciated if you notify us of your attendance, especially for large groups. Please contact Elise Burns at [email protected].
