A 1939 graduate of Purdue University, Buchanan has twice been awarded the Superior Civilian Service Award and twice received the Distinguished Civilian Service Award, the most recent for his contributions to the successful location of the hulk of the Scorpion. Buchanan, who is the author of many articles on acoustics, ocean engineering and high- pressure measurements, holds patents in the fields of acoustics, mechanical engineering, oceanographic instrumentation and underwater optical devices. He is a member of the Marine Technology Society, the Scientific Research Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. A 6 p:m. business meeting and 6:30 reception will precede the dinner, sponsored by the Indiana University Medical Center Chapter of the society. 4 The Indianapolis Transit System has informed the Green Sheet that, with Michigan becomin~ one-way west as of 10 a,m, Thursday. slight changes will go into effect for buses trying to get to the Medical Center,

Eastbound buses will turn from West Michigan on to the White River Parkway, West Drive, and continue south on the parkway to New York Street and continue on New York all the way downtown.

The special afternoon downtown bus which has been picking up passengers at 4:50 p.m. will be stopping on New York and Limestone (just east of the New York Street bridge) at 4:55 p.m. and at New York and Blake streets at 5 p.m. All clear?
