1. Exploration objectives:

To locate potential volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization, investigating to depths in excess of 400 meters.

2. Geophysical objectives:

a) To detect and delineate potential VMS mineralization, based on the combination of increased chargeability with favourable low resistivity association. Furthermore, to assist in geologic mapping and exploration, to depths in excess of 400 metres.

b) To determine optimal drill target locations for anomalous zones of interest.

The gradient technique with "Realsection" detail follow up was chosen based on high resolution, deep penetration and rapid reconnaissance capabilities. In addition, the technique was considered less susceptible to potential anomalous responses due to powerlines crosscutting the survey grid than Electromagnetic methods. The survey grid lines were established perpendicular to the powerlines in order to minimize electric field distortion related to powerline lightning protection groundings.

* Report Type: Summary interpretative, suitable for Assessment submission.

4. SUMMARY INTERPRETATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS :±M? jf-^l ; V ^io ;;;;; : ;: \

4.1 OVERVIEW

The Gradient IP/Resistivity surveys at the Southeast Godfrey property have mapped the IP and resistivity characteristics, in plan, investigating to depths up to or exceeding 450 meters. The data values represent apparent bulk averages of the physical properties within the volume of the subsurface influencing each measurement. The surveys were targeted at locating zones of semi massive to massive sulphide mineralization, based on their IP/Resistivity characteristics. The following summary interpretation discusses features in the IP/Resistivity results, and potential geologic relationships consistent with the results. Geologic relationships are referenced to published geologic mapping of the region (Ontario Division of Mines Map 2205, Timmins-Kirkland Lake Compilation Series), historic exploration data provided by Moneta Porcupine Mines and personal communication with Mr. Rainer Skeries of Moneta. The geophysical results represent quantifcations of physical properties which may not be uniquely explainable in geologic terms on a stand alone basis, and therefore require correlation with existing geoscientific data and may in addition require the gathering of additional geologic exploration information such as drilling, mapping and geochemical sampling in order to eliminate ambiguities.

The Southeast Godfrey property overlies a gabbroic intrusive hosted in felsic meta-volcanics and metasediments which are cross cut by near north-south trending diabase dykes. There is little bedrock exposure through glacial overburden, with the bulk of bedrock geological information resulting from previous exploration drilling. Magnetic surveys have successfully delineated the mafic units underlying the property.

4.2 GEOPHYSICAL RESULTS

The IP and Resistivity physical property distributions from the reconnaissance gradient coverage are presented as contoured plan maps of apparent total chargeability and resistivity. The resistivities at Godfrey were variable, from moderate to high, ranging over - 300 to 20,000 ohm-meters. The changeabilities were also variable from low to high, ranging from ~ 3 to 30 mVA/. On a property wide scale, chargeabililies generally fall within the range 3 to 15 mV/V while extremes of the overall range are localized to specific areas within the grid. Background levels of both the chargeability and resistivity are lower to the northeast, higher to the southwest across a northwest-southeast boundary bisecting the coverage adjacent to highway 576. To grid east the lower background values may reflect greater overburden depth.

The grid baseline was established along a northwest trending powerline. Additional powerlines and telephone lines occur adjacent to highway 576, which bisects the grid sub -parallel to the baseline ranging from ~ 100 meters to 300 meters east of the baseline (see figure 2). The various powerlines/telephone line do not appear to strongly influence the results.

The contoured data exhibit lineaments following northwest-southeast, and near north-south directional trends. In addition, line to line discontinuities suggest potential fault offsets sub-parallel to the northeast-southwest survey gridlines. Chargeability anomalies ranging from weak to very strong occur predominantly in the grid west region of the coverage. An anomaly map is presented showing the location of chargeability anomalies, and identifying 4 major anomalous zones, labelled A to D. On the basis of initial reconnaissance coverage at 200 meters line separations, additional survey lines were cut (lines 7+OOS - 13+OOS) to provide coverage at 100 meter line separations over targets of interest.

11

Page 12: Geophysical Survey Summary Interpretation Report · Geophysical Survey Summary Interpretation Report ... plus area under decay curve. ... ranging over - 300 to 20,000 ohm-meters.

P-184 Moneta Porcupine Mties IncSoutheast Godfrey Project

Zone A is characterized as a strong to very strong chargeable zone associated with reduced resistivity and is the strongest anomaly detected. The chargeable zone corresponds with reduced resistivity and is therefore consistent with potential massive sulphide mineralization, but may also be in response to graphite mineralization. While the zone is roughly circular, extensions along crosscutting lineaments suggest the zone may occur at a confluence of structural and/or stratigrapic features, with smaller structurally or stratigraphically restricted mineralized zones extending from the center of the anomaly.

Zone B is a narrow (25-50 meters) linear zone of moderate chargeability, associated with reduced resistivity, suggesting a structurally or stratigraphically confined, sub-vertical mineralized horizon, of massive or stringer-veinlet sulphides or graphite.

Zone C is not completely resolved at the south boundary of coverage. It may be similar in nature to Zone A.

Zone D

Zone D is a broad (~ 100 meters) northwest trending moderate to high chargeability zone, which in fact appears to be a series of shorter, narrower, discordant en echelon north-northwest trending anomalies some of which are associated with weakly lower resistivities, some with weakly higher resistivity and finally some occur at resistivity boundaries. This IP/Resistivity signatures within this zone as a whole appear to be less consistent with a massive sulphide type response.

" Realsection" detail follow up coverage was carried out over lines 7+OOS to 9+OOS focussing on development of target depth information over Zone A centered on line 8+OOS at ~100W, but in addition providing partial depth section development over Zones B and D. The "Realsection results have provided depth resolution generally from ~ 450 meters up to 300 meters and up to ~ 200 meters over the strongest anomaly in zone A. The sections provide additional target depth information and indications of dip directions of target zones.

5. CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS i;^; m ^K&^KfR- 1 : m *; ̂ 4 , :; ;

The reconnaissance gradient IP/Resistivity surveys at the Southeast Godfrey property have been successful in identifying at least three zones (A, B, and C) which potentially represent zones of massive or stnnger-veinlet sulphide mineralization. These may none the less also represent graphite mineralization. Of these Zone A is particularly of interest, due to the strength and shape of the anomalous zone. Based on the results of " Realsection" detail follow up, drill testing of Zone A at 100W on Line 8+OOS, at a depth of 150 meters, drilling grid east-west is recommended. Additional gradient IP/Resistivity surveys extending coverage to grid south to further resolve Zone C, with allowance for possible "Realsection" follow-up if warranted, is also recommended. We also recommend digitizing historic geoscientific data to an appropriate format to facilitate evaluation of the spatial distribution of geophysical properties with respect to known geologic features. Finally, we recommend determining the explanation of other anomalies located by the survey by further evaluation of existing geoscientific data and or further exploration work.

THEORETICAL BASIS AND SURVEY PROCEDURES

TDIP SURVEYS

The "RealSection" survey design uses multiple gradient arrays - with variable depths of investigation

controlled by successive changes in array size/geometry. The method of data acquisition and the "RealSection"

presentation are based on the specifications developed by Dr. Perparim Alikaj, of the Polytechnic University of

Tirana, Albania, over the course of 10 years of application. This technique has been further developed for

application in Canada during the past four years, in association with Mr. Dennis Morrison, president of Quantec

IP Inc.

The Gradient Array measurements are unique in that they best represent a bulk average of the

surrounding physical properties within a relatively focused sphere of influence, roughly equal to the width of the

receiver dipole, penetrating vertically downward from surface to great depths. These depth of penetration and

lateral resolution characteristics are showcased when presented in plan, however through the use of multiple-

spaced and focused arrays, the advantages of the gradient array are further highlighted when the IP/Resistivity

data are fully developed in cross-section, using RealSections.

The resistivity is among the most variable of all geophysical parameters, with a range exceeding 106 .

Because most minerals are fundamentally insulators, with the exception of massive accumulations of metallic

and submetallic ores (electronic conductors) which are rare occurrences, the resistivity of rocks depends

primarily on their porosity , permeability and particularly the salinity of fluids contained (ionic conduction),

according to Archie's Law. In contrast, the chargeability responds to the presence of polarizeable minerals

(metals, submetallic sulphides and oxides, and graphite), in amounts as minute as parts per hundred. Both the

quantity of individual chargeable grains present, and their distribution with in subsurface current flow paths are

significant in controlling the level of response. The relationship of chargeability to metallic content is

straightforward, and the influence of mineral distribution can be understood in geologic terms by considering two

similar, hypothetical volumes of rock in which fractures constitute the primary current flow paths. In one,

sulphides occur predominantly along fracture surfaces. In the second , the same volume percent of sulphides

are disseminated throughout the rock. The second example will, in general, have significantly lower intrinsic

chargeability.

Questionable anomalous measurements were measured on line 400S centered about the highway, which appeared to be consistent with a cultural source (eg. grounded powerline). These data were inconsistent with first pass results over this area.It was verified that the anomaly was not the result of equipment or AB wire leakage problems. Considerable water was present in ditches along the highway due to snow
