Brief History of Greece.

The Greeks today call themselves Hellenes and Greece it self Hellas.

The word “Greece” actually comes from the Romans. In the fifth century BC Greece was divided between the

Macedonians, Spartans, Ephesus, Byzantion and the Marseilles. But they all claimed to be Greeks, all these different factions of

Greeks had they’re own set of governments, army’s and independence.

All these factions fought against each other to control Greece. The Macedonians controlled Greece for a brief period of time

when King Phillip II rained to then be forced to hand over the thrown to his son Alexander the Great when king Phillip II was assassinated by a assassin hired by his wife.

Alexander then died in 323BC and Greece split into two main political parties.
