Local Places in a Globalizing World: First Year Seminar (GEOG 056)Instructor: Altha Cravey
This first year seminar introduces key debates on globalization, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and neoliberalism. Students read, analyze, and discuss scholarly articles with peers. Understanding this background material will prepare us for creating a local research project that we will design, implement, and write-up during the course of the semester. Having a background in geography is not required, or expected. Students should enroll in the class if they are prepared to work hard and participate regularly in discussion.
