Housekeeping Items Nanaimo and Area Land Trust (NALT) is having its

20th Annual General Meeting on Thursday at the Brechin United Church Hall, 1998 Estevan Road. At 6:30, by Richard Hebda, Curator of Botany and Earth History at the Royal BC Museum, as he reveals the changing face of our coastal landscape during the last 120,000 years. Follow the ebb and flow of ecosystems and species in response to past global climatic changes. See the potential impact of a different future climate on our coastal temperate rainforests and learn how we can anticipate and adapt to these.

Light refreshments will be available.

As I mentioned last week, Monarch butterfly populations are way down, and there are proposals to plant milkwood, their food species, long highways to give them a leg up on their migrations.

Renewable Energy/ Waste Management Today we’ll finish up Renewable Energy

and start in on waste management. I will start showing “Addicted to Plastic,” and finish it on Thursday, as it is a bit longer than class time. Write down any points you want to discuss/ share with the rest of the class.

Was the role play (it would have been ideal to have a couple more iterations) a useful exercise?
