THE GENRES OF MUSIC Alternative Blues Classical Country Electronic Folk Hip-Hop Jazz Latin Metal Opera RnB Rap Rock

SUMMARY There are several genre’s of music, each of them is very

popular.

Metal was the most popular music in 1980’s, but now a days Rock

is at the top of the world. Every magazine discusses only some

genres. I had chosen the following 5 Genre’s for my magazine: Rock Metal RnB Blues Rap

ROCK

SUMMARY OF ROCK Rock Magazines use dark and colors with shades as it relates

to energetic, hard music which gives you a feel. For Rock magazine you can target a huge amount of audience. One unique thing about a rock magazine is the cover page of the magazine. It uses dark colors and different pictures.

METAL

SUMMARY OF METAL Like rock music magazines, metal magazines

also uses dark colors and shades. The hard music and growling gives it a

different touch. Metal was the favorite most genre in 1980’s. Now, very less audience likes metal.

BLUES

SUMMARY OF BLUES Blues! The All-Time favorite music of the old

age. Blues is the name given to both a musical

form and a music genre that originated in African-American communities of primarily the “Deep South” of the United States around the end of 19th Century from spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants and rhymed simple narrative ballads.

The blues genre is based on the blues form but possesses other characteristics such as specific lyrics, bass lines, and instruments.

RNB

SUMMARY OF RNB Rhythm & Blues, often abbreviated as R&B

and RnB, is a genre of popular African-American music that originated in the 1940’s.

In 1980’s, a newer style of RnB developed, becoming known as, Contemporary RnB.

The term was originally used by record companies to describe recordings marketed predominantly to urban African Americans, at a time when "urbane, rocking, jazz based music with a heavy, “insistent beat” was becoming popular.

RAP

SUMMARY OF RAP Rap refers to “spoken or chanted rhyming

lyrics”. The art form can be broken down into

different components. Rapping can be delivered over a beat or

without accompaniment. Rapping was started in early 1960’s. Now a day, rap is used in almost all type of

Hip-Hop and RnB music.
