Billboard Billboard always chooses artist who are very popular at the time of the issue. They can range from issues being country, or sometimes the artist being mainstream e.g. Beyoncé. They have 69% of their target audience being interested in country music. The front covers mostly have the artist positioned over the Masthead. This is because the artist is so popular at the time they are going to sell the magazine not the title of the magazine. The Masthead is easily recognisable and also has the same blacked out colours e.g. B is filled with red and yellow.
