School Magazine

• Unfortunately, I don’t think my school magazinefollows a typical genre theorist because although itdoes have elements of Knight’s theory, it does notseem to follow any other. The nature of a schoolmagazine is to deliver information which is new to boththe students and the parents and therefore somethinginteresting and new to find out. However, it is apparentthat school magazines are issued either everyweek/month/term so therefore some parents andstudents are aware of what is going to be inside themagazine and the contents of the magazine. Apartfrom this theory I do not believe it follows any othertheory.

Hip-Hop Music Magazine

• Thinking solely upon genre and the style of my Hip-Hopmagazine, I decided not to follow typical Hip-Hopgenre locations. One, because many photos forinstance are shot in a photography studio and I didn’thave facilities such as a studio to shot in, and it alsowould have been really expensive to hire. Therefore, Idecided to chose my locations differently, I wanted tohave an edgy looking contents page, so for that reasonI made my model stand in front of a tree striking a posemany have seen before in music magazines such asVIBE. Using something as simple as a tree made thephoto look unique and different and that was theimage I was trying to create.

Short 5 Min Horror Film

• Deborah Knight Deferral of the inevitableprovides attentional pleasure of prolongedanticipation for the audience. An example ofDeborah Knight’s theory is during my short filmwhen my protagonist is unable to sleep afterwatching an 18 rated horror film, so therefore myaudience are aware that she will most likely havea nightmare where she has a nightmare, just likethe film. Likewise, it means my audience arecomfortable with the conventions of a horror filmand the genre itself as they have the ability toknow what is going to happen.
