form of ‘Hanna’ and ‘Lara Croft’.

Women In action adventure movies, women are commonly

represented as either ‘evil’, ‘sidekick’ or a ‘damsel in

distress’. All these stereotypes feature in James Bond.

Death Most characters are often faced with death, either

threats, friends’ death and death itself.

Conclusion These themes are apparent throughout most action-

adventure. Women are represented stereotypically, main

characters are mostly male, although recently female leads

have been introduced. Furthermore death is a recurring

theme and lingers in most action-adventure films.
