An action movie is where a hero/heroes/heroin faces and overcome a lot of challenges which require physical action such as fights and chases.

Sub-genres:

•This genre is basically action mixed with comedy; an example of this will be rush hour where action scenes are less intense than a normal action movie, due to the comedy which is combined with it.

Action comedy:

•A disaster film is usually involves an unavoidable disaster or incident. Some of these disasters may be natural disasters for example earthquakes or floods. A example of this will be Armageddon.

Disaster film:

This genre involves a female Protagonist who is a heroin, which involves weaponry and martial arts. An example of this is tomb raider where she uses physical strength as well as she uses weapons such as guns.

Girls with guns:

•This genre has all aspects of an action film, example explosions and chases. The storyline is usually based on war or the time around war.
