Rock• Rock music came about during and after the 1960's, this was mostly in the UK and

United States. To begin with it slowly came about in the 1940's and 1950's. It was influenced by rhythm and blues and country music. Rock music also grew strongly on a number of other genres such as blues and folk.

• Rock music is mainly with the electric guitar, this also includes other instruments like bass guitar and drums. Normally for Rock music videos there are lots of people and the band is normally playing at a concert, either that or the band is normally recorded on their own playing their instruments and singing the song. The shots during the music are usually close ups of a band member as the focus is on them.

Pop

• Pop music came about in 1926, it became quite popular when it first started. The term "pop music" is originated in Britain in the mid 1950s as the new youth music. In the late 1950s pop has had the special meaning of non-classical music, usually in the form of songs, performed by artists like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, ABBA etc.

• In pop music video's there is a lot of dancing which makes it the Pop music video. With the dancing it makes a happier tune and a more modern type of music. Pop video's can be made in a lot of places as there isn't a specific area it focuses on but sometimes at party's. Clothing is normally for females dresses and jeans and for males jeans t-shirts.

R&B

• R&B music is a music genre which is made up of hip hop, soul, R&B and Funk. R&B music came about in the 1940s. Generally in R&B music videos there is a lot of dancing and flashing lights. There are also normally a lot of people involved. Clubs and party's are a key place for R&B music videos to be held. Clothing worn are casual clothes such as jeans, hoodies and trainers. The camera angles used are a variety from close ups to wide shots where lots of people are shown to birds eye view where a crowd of people are shown in a club.

Indie• Indie music is a sub-genre of alternative rock which was

originated in the UK and the United States in the 1980s. Indie music is extremely diverse. Clothing usually worn in Indie music video's are again casual, e.g. jeans, chino's jumpers, t-shirts and converse trainers.

Jazz

• Jazz music was originated at the beginning of the 20th century in African American communities in the Southern United States.
