Genre and Topic

After much research, I have concluded that i want to make a drama based

on mental health and schizophrenia. This is a brain disorder that distorts

the way a person thinks, acts, expresses emotions, perceives reality and relates to others.

Short films tend to focus on key issues rather than an actual story. I also

want to use my own music instead of copyright tracks.

I wanted to highlight the issue of growing schizophrenia in teens and

young adults. People can have a very narrow opinion

of mental health disorders, just brushing the sufferers off as a

‘weirdo.’I want to combat that stereotypical view and show that sufferers are just

the same as everybody else, complex individuals.

I’m considering shooting a parallel storyline where the subject is filmed seeing or doing something but only hinting at which event was reality

and which was fantasy. I still have to make a poster and do a

review for the film, one of which needs to be finished and posted by

early next week.
