Genova, città dell’Italia nord-occidentale con oltre 610.000 abitanti, capoluogo dell’omonima provincia e della regione Liguria. Sesta città d’Italia per popolazione del suo comune e della sua agglomerazione urbana e quinta per movimento economico.

Grimaldi che ancor oggi governa il Principato di Monaco.

Nel Medioevo Genova vantava il primato di essere la prima città a reintrodurre in chiave moderna l’oro nella monetazione occidentale, coniando quale moneta il Genovino, subito copiato da Firenze nel peso e nel titolo, e ancor più tardi da Venezia.

Il bellissimo centro storico risulta il più esteso d’Europa, e la propria riviera marittima è apprezzata in tutto il mondo per la bellezza dei luoghi, tra questi la località di Portofino da sempre meta delle personalità più ricche ed influenti del mondo.

La Bandiera della città di Genova è la croce di San Giorgio costituita da una croce rossa in campo bianco originariamente vessillo della Repubblica di Genova, venne poi utilizzata dai crociati e in seguito adottata dall’Inghilterra nonché da molte altre nazioni e città.

Sede dell’industria pesante in particolare navale, Genova oggi è un affermato centro turistico, scientifico, tecnologico e universitario pur mantenendo viva la sua tradizione industriale.

Il Porto di Genova è tuttora il più importante d’Italia, nonché uno dei più grandi del Mediterraneo.A fianco dei già presenti centri di ricerca (tra cui spicca l’ospedale pediatrico Gaslini di rilevanza internazionale) si è affiancato negli ultimi anni l’Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (noto come IIT).

Meta oggi ambita dai turisti è il noto Acquario, il secondo più grosso d’Europa che conta oltre 1.200.000 visitatori l’anno risultando tra le mete più visitate d’Italia, al pari della bellissima Via Garibaldi da qualche anno entrata a far parte dei patrimoni dell’Unesco assieme al sistema dei Palazzi dei Rolli altra unicità storica della città.

Genova è anche sede del Salone Nautico, la principale esposizione europea di nautica da diporto giunta alla sua 50 edizione.

Fondata nel 1998 da tre soci provenienti da una precedente esperienza decennale nel settore militare orologiero, in pochi anni ha saputo conquistare rilevanti quote di mercato: tali risultati sono dovuti anche alla particolare tipologia di orologi militari che sta conquistando sempre più consensi nel mercato collezionistico.

La Memphis Belle infatti produce orologi superprofessionali subacquei e cronografi con materiali di qualità totale, con caratteristiche direttamente legate alle esigenze del professionista militare, poiché essa è la principale fornitrice di orologi per le forze armate non solo Italiane e tra esse è fornitrice esclusiva dell’Aeronuatica Militare Italiana e delle Frecce Tricolore.

L’altissimo standard qualitativo ha fatto si che i nostri orologi venissero scelti da molti Reparti Speciali e di Volo, per l’utilizzo operativo anche in importantissime missioni militari in tutto il mondo.

La M.E.S. - MOLECOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS – si pone nel mercato come realtà aziendale che ha brevettato il primo ed unico sistema antifouling ecologico ad ultrasuoni da applicare sui circuiti di raffreddamento ad acqua di mare, senza fare uso di sostanze chimiche ed inquinanti, ma solo di vibrazioni ultrasonore che si disperdono senza danneggiare l’ambiente.

Tale sistema coperto da brevetto internazionale, da tempo trova impiego con successo a bordo di navi mercantili e passeggeri di importanti compagnie armatoriali, e recentemente ha iniziato ad applicarlo anche su navi da diporto.

La particolarità del sistema è di non avere contatti diretti con l’acqua di mare, e pertanto l’installazione può essere eseguita anche con nave operativa, a differenza di altri sistemi che richiedono il fermo della nave in bacino presso il porto.

Il sistema rispetta le norme vigenti dei registri navali e tutte le norme istituzionali, in particolare le u.s. coast guard pollution and sanitation requirements for vessels foreign flags, in quanto non fa uso di liquido chimico, additivo o sostanza tossica (cloro concentrato, solfato di rame etc..) ma esclusivamente di vibrazioni non distruttive ad alta frequenza che si disperdono senza causare danni o alterazioni all’ambiente.

Il sistema trova impiego su navi, yachts, pompe antincendio immerse, che usano come fluido refrigerante l’acqua di mare, e ad oggi è l’unico applicabile sulle navi che operano nei mari protetti da norme restrittive antinquinamento come il Mar Caspio.

M.E.S. - MOLECULAR ENERGY SYSTEMS - arises in the market as a business reality that has patented the first and only ecological Ultrasonic antifouling system to be applied on circuits cooling sea water without the use of chemicals and pollutants, but only vibration ultrasound to disperse without damaging the environment.

This internationally patented system, is used successfully for some time on board merchant ships and passengers of major shipping companies, and has recently begun to apply it on pleasure boats.

The peculiarity of the system is not to have direct contact with seawater, and therefore the installation can be done with ship operations, unlike other systems that require the detention of a ship in dock at the port.

The system complies with the standards of shipping registers and all the institutional rules, particularly the U.S. Coast Guard pollution and sanitation requirements for foreign flag vessels, as it does not use liquid chemicals, additives or toxic substance (concentrated chlorine, copper sulphate etc. ..) but only for non-destructive high-frequency vibrations that are dispersed without causing injury or damage to the environment.

The system is used on ships, yachts, surrounded by fire engines, which use water as coolant water, and today is the only applicable on vessels operating in waters protected by restrictive anti-pollution standards as the Caspian Sea.

Il Progetto MAC nasce a Genova nel 1994 come agenzia di servizi rivolta ai Club di Auto d’Epoca, expertise che presto si evolve nella gestione di Community di appassionati d’auto – dalla Mini (1999) all’Alfa Romeo (2009) – e quindi nella progettazione organizzazione e comunicazione di grandi eventi automotive: dalla celebrazione del Cinquantenario della Giulietta (2004) al Centenario della nascita di Karl Abarth(2008).

Denominatore comune: l’altissima qualità degli eventi, necessaria per gestire brand e target spesso appartenenti alla cosiddetta area dell’alta gamma.Questa capacità si conferma con interventi sempre più frequenti nel settore nautico e con la progettazione, organizzazione e comunicazione di grandi eventi funzionali al marketing territoriale di Enti e Istituzioni.

1921 Giuseppe Messina, dopo varie esperienze armatoriali, si trasferisce a Genova ed affida l’attività al primogenito Ignazio che dà vita ai servizi regolari di linea utilizzando navi battenti bandiera italiana.Nel 1929 la denominazione della Società diventa “ Ignazio Messina & C. “. Gli efficienti servizi svolti per il Nord Africa ottengono il consenso del mondo mercantile ed alla Compagnia viene riconosciuto il Guidone postale per la Libia.1935 I servizi vengono estesi verso il Mar Rosso, l’Arabia Saudita, l’Africa Orientale e, dopo la seconda guerra mondiale, nonostante la perdita quasi totale della flotta, verso la Tunisia, l’Algeria, il Libano, l’Egitto e l’Africa Occidentale.1968. Da armatore tradizionale di navi convenzionali l’attività della Compagnia si trasforma in vettore specializzato nei servizi regolari ro-ro container. Durante la chiusura del Canale di Suez le navi Messina sono le uniche di bandiera italiana a garantire il servizio di linea per l’Africa Orientale ed il Mar Rosso. Eridania Zuccherifici Nazionali è la più grande società saccarifera italiana, 46% quota produzione italiana da regolamento UE nel 2002.

Nasce a Genova nel 1899 come “Società Anonima Eridania, fabbrica di zucchero” con lo scopo di produrre e commerciare zucchero e prodotti affini.Dagli ambienti commerciali e finanziari genovesi provengono ben 9 dei 12 azionisti fondatori, con il 64% del capitale sociale che ammontava a due milioni e mezzo di lire.Il dodicesimo socio è un industriale genovese, tale Giovanni Battista Figari, che diverrà presidente della nuova azienda saccarifera nel 1901 e la guiderà fino al 1914, anno della sua morte, con notevole intraprendenza e grande capacità commerciale e finanziaria.

La grande crisi economica mondiale del 1928-29 produce una fase di concentrazione dell’industria italiana, cui non si sottrae quella saccarifera. È il 1930 quando l’azienda si fonde con un altro colosso del settore, la “Ligure Lombarda”, dando vita alla “Eridania Zuccherifici Nazionali”, la quale controlla pure la “Distillerie Nazionali”.La fusione riesce perfettamente e, alla fine degli anni ‘30, gli ormai 28 stabilimenti controllati dall’Eridania, sono in grado di produrre il 60% del fabbisogno nazionale di zucchero. Tale sviluppo venne anche favorito dalla politica autarchica del regime fascista che perseguiva l’autonomia del Paese dalle importazioni dei beni di prima necessità dall’estero.

Nel 1966 il petroliere attilio Monti decide di investire forti capitali nella produzione dello zucchero ed acquista l’Eridania, che poi rivenderà a metà degli anni ottanta al Gruppo Ferruzzi.

Dopo vari passaggi di mano nel 2003 viene costituita la nuova Eridania Sadam SpA tutt’ora di proprietà della società bolognese Gruppo Maccaferri.

La Riso Gallo è tra le più antiche industrie risiere italiane. Nacque a Genova nel 1856, con l’apertura di uno stabilimento che lavorava risone importato e lo esportava in Sud America. Il successo ottenuto e la crescente esperienza nel settore indussero ben presto i proprietari, Frugone e Preve, a concentrare l’attenzione sulle coltivazioni italiane e fu così che lo stabilimento genovese si trasferì prima a Novara poi a Robbio Lomellina, nel cuore della regione risiera italiana. Contemporaneamente un altro stabilimento fu aperto in Argentina, per far fronte alle necessità del mercato sudamericano, e fu proprio in Argentina che ebbe origine la denominazione Riso Gallo (Arroz Gallo). Poiché l’analfabetismo era ancora diffuso, l’azienda adottò simboli di animali per individuare le diverse varietà di riso: la giraffa, la tigre, l’aquila, l’elefante e il gallo campeggiavano sulle confezioni. In breve tempo il gallo, simbolo della qualità migliore, divenne simbolo dell’azienda stessa.

Nel 1943 è la prima azienda a commercializzare il riso in scatole fino a prima venduto solamente sfuso.

Nel 1993 è la prima azienda del settore ad istituire il Servizio Consumatori.

Nel 1996 viene inventata la novità mondiale ed esclusiva Gallo “Chicci Conditi” (gli attuali Risotti pronti).

Riso Gallo is one of the oldest rice-growing Italian.

He was born in Genoa in 1856, with the opening of a factory that employed rice imported and exported to South America.

Il 15 marzo 1921 il cavaliere Emanule Vittorio Parodi, suo figlio Giorgio e l’amico di quest’ultimo Carlo Guzzi fondano a Genova (sede legale), con produzione a Mandello Tonzanico (successivamente diventato Mandello del Lario), un paese sul Lago di Como in provincia di Lecco, la “Società Anonima Moto Guzzi”.

La prima moto, la G.P. (Guzzi-Parodi), viene costruita come prototipo con l’aiuto di un fabbro di Mandello, nella cantina di casa della famiglia Guzzi. Il nome “GP” viene abbandonato subito e trasformato, con il consenso unanime di tutti i soci, in Moto Guzzi, anche per evitare fraintendimenti con le iniziali Guzzi-Parodi con quelle del solo Giorgio Parodi. In una forma leggermente modificata (due valvole anziché quattro) al fine di contenere i costi di produzione, già nell’anno della fondazione vengono costruite 17 motociclette come modello Normale.Le nuove moto hanno già, come emblema di fabbrica, un’aquila con le ali spiegate, scelta in ricordo dell’amico Giovanni Ravelli morto in un incidente aereo.

Dal 1924 con la partecipazione alle gare, la marca si afferma sempre di più. Il punto di forza è certamente la vittoria del Campionato Europeo, dove con la C4V la Moto Guzzi conquista il primo, secondo e quinto posto.Nel 1925 a Mandello sono costruite, da oltre 300 lavoratori, 1.200 Motocicli mentre nel 1927, accanto ai modelli sportivi, per sperimentare l’efficienza del telaio elastico (prima moto al mondo dotata di questo accorgimento), il fratello di Carlo, Giuseppe Guzzi, guida un nuovo modello, la G.T. in un raid a Capo Nord. Grazie al successo dell’impresa la G.T. poté fregiarsi meritatamente del nome Norge datogli inizialmente in onore del dirigibile omonimo.

Giuseppe fu l’inventore, ed il progettista insieme a Carlo, del telaio elastico con sospensione posteriore. Va ricordato che, precedentemente a questa innovazione, i motocicli avevano il telaio completamente rigido analogamente alle biciclette.

Già nel 1929 la produzione raggiunge le 2.500 unità e l’azienda, nel 1934 è il maggiore produttore di motociclette in Italia.

Dopo vari passaggi di proprietà dal 2004 fa parte del Gruppo Piaggio & C. S.p.A.

1882 - E’ il 5 settembre quando Enrico Piaggio conclude l’acquisto di un terreno a Sestri Ponente (Genova) per impiantarvi uno stabilimento per la lavorazione di legname destinato a forniture navali. A Enrico si affianca ben presto il giovane figlio Rinaldo.

1887 - Rinaldo si stacca del padre per formare la Piaggio & C, eleggendo l’arredamento navale a principale campo di azione della società. L’azienda di Sestri Ponente si presenta come moderna, efficiente, meccanizzata. Il 1889 segna l’entrata in società di Attilio Odero, l’esordio nel settore ferroviario e l’acquisizione di una nuova officina a Finale Marina.

1916 - Inizia l’attività di produzione aeronautica. Ben presto è chiara la funzione sociale che Rinaldo Piaggio attribuisce all’azienda: contribuire all’incremento dell’occupazione e al disegno di sviluppo economico nazionale.

1946 - Il primo prototipo di Vespa fu prodotto a Pontedera e subito commercializzato. Dopo la prima tiepida accoglienza, già dalla fine dell’anno la produzione inizia a decollare. Il successo è enorme e senza precedenti: in dieci anni verrà prodotto circa un milione di esemplari e l’apertura ai mercati esteri sarà pressoché immediata.

Il Credito Italiano (abbreviato Credit) è stata una delle prime e più importanti banche italiane; insieme a Banco di Roma e Banca Commerciale Italiana, era una delle tre Banche di Interesse Nazionale (BIN) controllate dall’IRI.

Nel 1870 viene fondata a Genova la “Banca di Genova”.

Nel 1885 la “Banca di Genova” acquista la “Banca Vonwiller” di Milano e muta il suo nome in Credito Italiano.

Nel 1907 il Credito Italiano sposta la direzione generale da Genova, dove rimane la sede legale, a Milano in Piazza Cordusio (dove ancora oggi è situata la sede della banca). Sempre nel 1907 partecipa con la Banca d’Italia e la Banca Commerciale Italiana al salvataggio della Società Bancaria Italiana.Vengono aperte le sedi di Londra (1911) e NewYork (1917). Sempre nel 1911 fonda con dei belgi, la Banca Italo Belga in SudAmerica (Brasile, Argentina e Uruguay).

Nel 1930 il Credito Italiano (seconda banca italiana) acquista la Banca Nazionale di Credito (terza banca italiana).

Nel 1933 per via della crisi, l’Istituto per la Ricostruzione Industriale acquista il Credito Italiano e le altre due banche miste: Banca Commerciale Italia e Banco di Roma.

Nel 1935 il titolo viene sospeso dalla borsa. La legge bancaria del 1936 limita l’attività delle banche al solo credito ordinario. Il Credito Italiano, come le altre ex banche miste, è dichiarato Istituto di Diritto Pubblico.

Nel 1937 l’IRI muta la ragione delle tre banche, da Istituti di Diritto pubblico a Banche d’Interesse Nazionale, per mantenere la qualifica di banche nazionali.

Nel 1946 il Credito Italiano insieme alle altre due banche dell’IRI fonda Mediobanca.

Nel 1970 riprende la quotazione del titolo in borsa e vengono riaperte le filiali di Londra (1971) e New York (1973).
