The fusion of Nikon microscopes with Genikon “Digital System” gives today the ideal solution to acquire and to process FISH images in a very quick and simple way. In particular, the automatic control of the times acquisition of the cameras, gives possible a completely automatic solution. The new digital head of the microscope 90i/80i gives the opportunity to be controlled from software in the moving of the single filter in a fast a very easy way. This opportunity eliminates shifting and bleaching problems. The software offers list of capturing saved and the complete control of the shutter of the fluorescence in order to illuminate as less as possible the sample. With just a click of the mouse the user starts the acquisition process of all the fluorochromes of the list and gives to the system the complete control of the exposition times in order to obtain at the end a perfect and focussed image. The new tool of automatic focus control, identifies the best contrast for every plane for each fluorochrome independently

from the one fixed at the ocular

Because in a single plane of fluorescence could happen that one signal doesn’t show the same focus

of the other, the new tool of 3D reconstruction of Genikon became very important. This function will

create one single image which will show all the single signals (for the same fluorochrome) at the same

focus plane.
