Offer is valid till: End of 2010

Remarks: If the vessel fails the boroscope inspection (i.e. corrosion), the customer will receive the boroscope pictures of his bottle and will be charged only for the work performed to this stage of the overhaul process, including the recycling of the old extinguishing medium. The bottles will be destroyed or returned to the owner at his expenses (TBD). Frequently asked questions (during the last 2 days): 1) Cost for overhauled unit? See above 2) Would we need to send to you the old unit for overhaul, or can we j ust buy your overhauled item? Fire bottles are very short on the market, so it will be a 100% in exchange deal. No outright sale! 3) HazMat shipping - is it as complex and expensive as it wa s for the seat pyros? No, it is not, just see below please and follow our shipping instructions. 4) The squib cartridge - is it included in overhauled unit, or is it possible to use same one again? The PP-3 cartridges are not included. They normally have a service life of 6 months only if installed on aircraft. Their shelf time in sealed cans is 5 years. Shipping of them will be another story. See number 3! We are investigating right now a shipping of PP-3 cartridges with Schenker, but we prefer to send a package of them to only one customer in the US for further distribution inside the US. So using the old ones would be an option…..not preferably, but still an option and your decision only. 5) If we can find a place here in the USA to 'absorb' the old R ussian Mixture 7, can we send the old cylinder to you via UPS or FedEx as it is no longer pressurized? The cost for getting rid of the old Mixture 7 or the Freon 114V2 will be definitely higher than the shipping cost, because for this extinguishing medium no further use is possible and therefore it must be recycled / neutralized. This is already included in the offered price for the overhaul. 6) We will have to figure out something where we don't get hosed by the import tax again. I do not really see a chance to avoid import taxes, since the paperwork must be bullet proof, because this will be shipped as dangerous goods anyway and it is for sure that the TSA/Customs will take a close look at it while it is getting scanned because it is round and heavy, made from steel and the head looks strange. 7) How to ship it? In a wooden box; if you don’t have it, you will need to make one in accordance with the pictures shown below. The box must fulfil the requirements of IATA, must be labelled accordingly and the bottle must be safe attached inside as shown on the picture. We have a limited quantity of those boxes and we need them all back! The last time I had sent a fire bottle for the MiG-21 to the US, I had marked the lid on top where the lid must be unscrewed for inspections (just two screws) and where the lid needs to be opened to the

side....the TSA folks were unable to manage that and they broke from the back side into the special wooden box....it was gone..... Procedures and shipping options Option 1

You send your old bottle(s) with their original passports to us and you want your original bottle back. In this case the turn around time will be approx. 4 weeks. An incoming inspection will be done at us and passport for the vessel, pyro head and manometer will be checked and verified with the numbers on the fire extinguisher. Then the overhaul process will start. This is preferred for airplanes having a scheduled down time for maintenance or modification or for those undergoing an assembly process after import. Option 2 You send your old bottle(s) with their original passports to us and you want our bottles back in exchange. In this case the turn around time will be approx. 5 days. An incoming inspection will be done at us and passport for the vessel, pyro head and manometer will be checked and verified with the numbers on the fire extinguisher. Then the overhaul process of your bottles will start after the fresh bottles are sent to you. This option is only valid for fire bottles with original passports. Option 3 You send your old bottle(s) without their original passports to us and you will get your own bottles back. Here some additional cost may apply. On my side only 10 Euros for making the new passports, but since there are all entries missing about S/B carried out in the past, calibration info on gauges etc...the cost for the overhaul will increase a bit, not very much, but they are forced to do the overhaul in an extended version of the overhaul (repeating S/B etc) when the passports are missing, otherwise they can not issue the FORM 1 which also requires a history check... Therefore my "wish" to all operators: keep your original paper work in good order...it saves you some money! IF papers/passports for the fire bottle are missing, I need the TSO of the airplane, as well as the S/N and registration number, date of last airframe overhaul and date of removal from airplane. That’s the minimum on info they need, otherwise they will not touch the bottle.

Shipping as dangerous goods The box The box must be from plywood, should have a shaped part on the bottom where the bottle is supported in it. Furthermore, on the bottle's neck must be a wooden piece where the bottle's neck can rest on and must be screwed onto the wood piece with a metal bracket by two screws/nuts. Under no circumstances the bottle should move in the box when safe installed. The box must be labelled as shown below. Samples can be obtained from us by email. Just print them out on paper and glue them on the box. Original Fire extinguisher shipping box

Filling out the FORM You are allowed to fill out the form on your own. A shipping company will do it for you…but it costs you some extra money. Since you are responsible for the content of the shipment anyway…do it. You will have to add your cell number as an emergency contact number in the lower part of the form. Since we are shipping our bottles with SCHENKER, do the same please! Because then it will be a known case for them and reduces the number of questions. Other shipping docs for your old bottle(s) Packing list (3 copies) Pro-Forma invoice (3 copies) On the Pro-Forma invoice and packing list, mark the bottles as follows:

Aircraft fire extinguisher for overhaul / Flugzeugfeuerlöscher zur Überholung No sale / Kein Verkauf

To be returned to sender after overhaul / Rücksendung zum Versender nach Überholung

This should be written in English and German on the pro-forma invoice and packing list to avoid additional questions by customs and the shipping company's agent here in Germany!

Put a low value of 50 USD for each old bottle on the shipping docs!!!

Using other shipping companies: 1) FEDEX ships the bottles without any problem, UPS is sometimes difficult. All other freight forwarders like Yellow Global, Schenker etc. ship them as well and are sometimes cheaper than FEDEX. 2) If you go with FEDEX, you will have to ask FEDEX at first for a “Dangerous goods” AWB. This is a little bit bigger than the standard FEDEX AWB. But there is no problem to fill out the special form. 3) In addition to the AWB, you will have to fill out the form “Shippers declaration for dangerous goods”. As you can see, fire bottles have been shipped to USA (Ohio MiG-21), New Zealand, Norway…all work the same way. The Class/Division is 2.2 and the UN Number is 1044. Packing Instruction is “213”.

How to identify the original passports? The passports are usually in the original set of log books (black leather case), in one of the 5…6 folders with all papers/single passports inside. Front Front
