In 2012 the Portal has been upgraded in the EU CIP knowledge networking, innovation and

competitiveness programme, where it has been reengineered as a multi-stakeholder tool to set up and manage Destination and Topic Learning

Areas, run a global Green tourism market place, and work as a virtual observatory on tourism

sustainable development.
