    GENERAL INFORMATION

    Pediatric Sophomore Physical Diagnosis2012-13

    Students going to Mercy MUST park in the Bunting garage, on PleasantStreet. That is the only garage for which they validate parking. Take yourticket with you to pediatrics. The department of Pediatrics is located in theBunting Building on the 2 nd floor, (below the Main Lobby) and next to the

    Center for Advanced Fetal Care.

    The Mercy outpatient clinic is located on Calvert St. across the street fromthe Mercy Emergency Department. The clinic is on the first fl. You stillhave to go to Pediatrics (see above) to get your parking validated.

    University of Maryland Pediatrics at the Harbor (PATH) is located at 3East Lee Street, at the corner of South Charles St. There are directionsand a map attached. We expect the clinics will be moving to Maryland

    General sometime between January and April. I will let you know when thechange occurs.

    The Pediatric Sub Specialty Clinics are located on the 5 th floor of theNorth Hospital Room N5W40.

    Students going to community practices: PLEASE CALLto find out the startof afternoon office hours. Many of the practices do not start until 2 pm.

    Those of you that have a contact telephone number that start with 3282337 followed by 4 digits need to know that these are pagers and you willaccess the overhead paging system in the hospital. Dial the number 3282337. The operator will ask for the number you want to page. Dial in thefour digits and then your call back #. Some of you do not have pagernumber listed because I did not have them. If you need to contact your

    preceptor, call 328 6662 and ask either Pat or Davina, in the pediatrichouse-staff office, for the pager # of your preceptor.

    IF YOU CANNOT GET TO YOUR ASSIGNMENT FOR ANY REASON,PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR MAKE UP TIME DIRECTLY WITH YOUR PRECEPTOR. It is easier for you to work it out for your conveniencethen to have me in the middle. Let me know of any changes.

    Reflective Session: This is an online requirement. You will be prompted toparticipate by email after your clinical sessions. Log on to the Medscopecalendar, find the date of your clinical session, go to the Forum area. Youwill find some questions on your pediatric pd experience. Post at least one

    comment in response to the questions. Pediatric faculty will be reading andresponding to the posts. The purpose is to pull together your experiencesand to add some content to which you may or may not have been exposed.

    Please try to read the following article regarding the impact ofdevelopmental stages on the physical exam.
