• Hot Water Storage Tanks: From 80 lt to 1000 lt. enamelled

steel single coil, double coil, combi type and buffer tanks.

• Biomass Boilers: From 17 kW to 40 kW with pellet, wood

log, chips, oilcake, wheat, corn.

• Gas/Oil Boilers: Wall-hung gas and floor-standing gas/oil

boilers, from 15 kW to 3460 kW.

Integrated systemsBaymak has always been active in the development of solutions which ensure the maximum environmentalrespect. Baymak is also aware that future’s heating solutions are based on the integration betweenboilers and systems working with renewable energies.

Following this philosophy, Baymak has developed

the integrated solar system combining the

excellent technology of Baymak boilers with a

complete range of solar collectors and cylinders

for forced draft installation.

A concept of intelligent comfort which advantages

are low pollutant emissions (ecological comfort)

and high energy efficiency.

Principles Of Solar EnergyEvery object directly exposed to the sun absorb heat and increase its temperature. As a consequence of thechemical reactions that take place in the mass of the sun, a constant stream of energy is produced aselectromagnetical radiation.We define the “solar constant” as the amount of incoming solar electromagnetic radiation per unit area, measuredon the outer surface of Earth's atmosphere in a plane perpendicular to the rays.The solar constant includes all types of solar radiation (infrared rays, UV rays, etc.), not just the visible light. Itis measured to be roughly 1,366 watts per square meter (W/m2), though this fluctuates by about 6.9% duringa year (from 1,412 W/m2 in early January to 1,321 W/m2 in early July) due to the earth's varying distance fromthe Sun, and typically by much less than one part per thousand from day to day. The approximate average valuecited, 1,366 W/m2, is equivalent to 1.96 calories per minute per square centimeter, or 1.96 langleys (Ly) perminute.

As above stated, the Earth receives a total amount of radiation determined by its cross section but, as it rotates,

this energy is distributed across the entire surface area. Morevoer, at any given moment, the amount of Solar

radiation received at a location on the Earth's surface depends on the state of the atmosphere and the location's

latitude.

The Inclination Of Solar Collectors

The inclination of solar collectors is the angle between the plane of their surface and the horizontal surface they

rest on. To optimize collectors efficiency, the angle between collectors surface and incident rays should be 90°.

If collectors rest on a pitched roof it is advisable to keep the same inclination of the roof.

On the other hand, if they rest on a flat roof the following indications should be

considered when deciding the collector inclination:

• Summer 20 – 40°

• Winter 50 – 65°

• Middle seasons 40 – 60° Inclination angle between the

collectors and the horizontal plate

Smart Comfort:The Forced Draft Baymak Solar Energy SystemThe circulation of the heat transfer fluid can be natural of forced. Natural circulation refers to the ability of afluid in a system to circulate continuously, with gravity and changes in heat energy (temperature) being the onlydriving force. Despite of installation simplicity, with natural circulation heat transfer fluid flows very slowly andthe amount of absorbed solar energy is very low. ����In case of forced circulation, heat transfer fluid is driven by means of a thermostat controlled pump. Flow ratecan be set to obtain the maximum solar energy absorption.

• Collector GlassDurasolar ® P+ sandy glass is produced by Trakya Cam (fiiflecam), the biggest glass manufacturer of Turkey,

gives one of the highest performance among the other European glasses.

Durasolar ® P+ sandy glass that includes lower iron-oksit ratio, higher light transmittance and heat permeability

than the standard iron glass provides maximum efficiency for the collector performance.

Durasolar® P+ Temperred glass is resistant to physical outdoor factors as rain, UV, temperature, thermal shock,

stroke.

Durasolar® P+ glass has been tested by SPF Solartechnik Prüfung Forschung - Switzerland

Solar CollectorsA flat plate is the most common type of solar thermal collector, and is usually used to generate solar hot water.

A weatherproofed, rock wool insulated box containing a blue selective coated Cu or Alu metal absorber sheet

with built in pipes is placed in the path of sunlight.

The absorber has been tested in Germany/Fraunhofer-Institue.

The latest technology of selective coated absorbers that have been used for the Baymak new serie solar collectors

transfer the sun radiation heat in maximum level and minimize the reflection loss which decrease the efficiency.

Below the radiation heat losses for different coating materials are shown. As it is seen from the pictures the

minimum heat loss is supplied through the selective coated metal sheet.

• Absorber Coating for Baymak Solar CollectorsCollectors with selective coated absorbers are a clear alternative to conventional energy generation and also

help to considerably reduce CO2 emmissions.

As the heart of the solar collector, eta plus efficiently converts

solar energy into heat and at the same time protects the

collector against energy losses.

Laser Welding TechnologyLASER welding methode which is the one of the most modern and latest technologies has been used to connect

the selective coated absorber surface to the riser pipes.

Baymak collectors produced by LASER welding methode protects the absorber and increase the aperture surface

between 2 % to 4 %.

• Collector Harp SystemThanks to the 12 riser pipes the heat is transferred into the water

in maximum level and increases the efficiency of the collector.

• FrameThanks to the special design of the patented frame all the components have been held

together strongly.

The new frame protects the collector from all external factors over the years with

2 mm wall thickness.

• Glaze SealingThe new type of Baymak Collectors are protected by monobloc vulcanised EPDM sealing

that provides perfect leakness on the corners and maximum thermal durability against

UV rays.

• Manifold SealingManifold sealing has been made of silicon for perfect leakness and high temperature

• Collector InsulationFor new type of Baymak collectors, insulation material has been used as rookwool that is tested by SPF Institute.

This special rockwool includes the lowest level chemical binder.

• Collector Bottom PlateNew type BAYMAK collectors have more stronger and thicker new aluminium back

plate. The back plate thickness is 1mm. This plate provides maximum durability against

Power output of a solar system is not particularly high in comparison with standard heating systems. For example,

a 5 m2 solar system can reach a maximum power of 2,5 kW while working under most favourable conditions.

Thus, the storage tanks is one of the most important components of the system since the sun gives his maximum

contribution only for few hours per day and not every day.

We can roughly state the tank capacity has to be 1,5-2 times the daily DHW demand. By increasing its capacity

it would be possible to store a bigger amount of energy but inner temperature level would inevitably decrease

(that means the auxiliary boiler has to switch on much more frequently).

Baymak Solar Storage Tanks

Generally, 200-400 litres double coil storage tanks are the best choice for single houses and apartments. Solar

circuit is connected to lower coil and auxiliary boiler to upper coil. The density difference between hot and cold

water inside the tank causes temperatures stratification. Being lighter, hot water collects in the upper part of

the storage tank, whereas cold water collects in the bottom. The bigger is the ratio between height and diameter,

the more the temperatures stratify.

Thus, the lower is the bottom temperature, the more profitably the solar system will operate even in case of

scarce solar irradiation.

The storage tank insulation must be very well insulated. Thermal losses amount should be as low as possible.

For example, the difference in terms of energy waste between an insulation coefficient of 3 W/°C (normal tank)

and an insulation coefficient of 1,5 W/°C (standard solar tank) is roughly 450 kWh.

In case of hard water, it’s advisable to keep the storage temperature lower than 60°C to avoid scale deposits

and coils efficiency decrease as a consequence (a 2 mm deposit corresponds to an efficiency decrease of 20%,

a 5 mm deposit to a decrease of 40%). Still regarding this matter, also the delta between inlet and delivery

temperatures of the coil should not be higher than 15°C.

The differential controller “SOR-M PLUS” used in the integrated solar system Baymak, is distinguished by the

easiness of use thanks to a simple display with only 4 buttons, of the system’s working.

The “SOR-M PLUS” controller grants a perfect regulation of solar systems installation made also by 2 tanks of

collectors or 2 storage tanks. It can be used also on a traditional solar installation, as well as shown on the 4

different installation schemes. (Described in the next page).

The solar automatic controller SOR M regulates thermal solar systems with up to 2 collectors or 2 storage tank

and may be used for five system types.

“SOR-M PLUS” Controller

The perfect functioning of the system can be obtained through the optimization of the flows of each circuit,

reaching the right room temperature as well as measuring the spoiled energy.

This goal can be reached through simple and advanced controllers, which receive signals from various elements

and allow to set the control temperature, the timings for switching on auxiliary boilers, etc.

The controllers transform the reading of the temperature into an electric signal that switch on/off a specific

process. The controller allows the fluid to get into circulation only with a real solar energy power support; it

measures the temperature out of the collector and in the bottom of the tank through sensors. The differential

thermostat compares both temperatures so that, in case the temperature is higher than the set limit, the

circulating pump starts working. Apart from what explained above, the controller can be adopted in different

points and for many uses inside these types of installation.

Installation of an expansion vessel with a high temperature resistant membrane is recommended for solar

systems. Their function is to absorb the expansion of the heat transfer fluid as the temperature increases in the

primary circuit, to maintain pressure inside the circuit within the allowable pressure range and to prevent the

introduction of air into the circuit during system cooldown.

Fernox Solar S1 is a clear, orange liquid with a distinct, faint odour. It has been specifically formulated for use

as a heat transfer fluid within solar thermal heating systems at elevated temperatures.

Fernox Solar S1 employs volatile corrosion inhibitors that will protect the installation when the heat transfer fluid
