WHAT IS A LICENSE? A license is….
Applied to a specific piece of Intellectual Property owned by someone else A set of rules listing what you can (and cannot) do with the IP A contract between you and the owner Fixed to a product or timeframe (depending on the rules)
What it isn’t… Ownership of that IP (unless the rules say so) Rights to change that IP (unless the rules say so) Rights to change those rules applied (unless the rules say so)
