Tyco Electronics GelCap kits provide quick

installation, dependable performance, and

easy reentry.

GelCap kits quickly and conveniently insulate,

seal, and protect stub splice connections up to

600 volts. The robust yet compact design was

engineered to handle the harsh environment

of motor connections. GelCap kits are equally

well suited to many other connection applica-

tions including street light connections.

PowerGel sealant technology:

The GelCap kits feature revolutionary

PowerGel sealant which provides an excellent

moisture seal over a wide temperature range

(-40C to 105C). PowerGel sealant has

excellent insulating properties and the added

benefit of acting as a vibration damper.

Innovative cap design and material:

The specially formulated material provides

excellent abrasion resistance, insulation value,

and UV resistance. In addition, the cap is clear

to allow visual inspection of connector

positioning during installation and connector

performance during service life. Each cap size

is designed to fit a wide range of cable sizes.

The expandable design keeps the cap as small

as possible and allows it to expand only as

much as needed to fit on larger cables. The

end result is easier installation in cramped

applications such as motor connection boxes.

Easy to select:It is not necessary to know the motor lead

cable size to select the correct kit. All you need

to know is the cable feeder size (or larger

cable if two different sizes). Only four sizes of

product cover from 16 AWG to 500 kcmil.

Fast and easy installation:

GelCap kits provide the fastest installation.

Simply push the cover down over the

connection and snap the clamp closed. No

extra materials or greases are required. The

PowerGel sealant is already in the cap.

Easy to reenter:

The GelCap kits cover is easy to reenter

because the PowerGel sealant pulls away

leaving a clean connection. Reentry is also

safer than other methods because no sharp

objects or cutting tools are required for

removal of the cap.

Installation/Removal Instructions

1. Align cap with

connection.

2. Push cover onto

connection and

snap clamp closed.

3. Complete

installation.

4. To remove, place

screwdriver in clamp

and twist.

5. Pull cover off. 6. A clean connect

remains.

quick installation and

Silicone gel is high dielectric
