Description :Turbin Kaplan termasuk kelompok turbin air reaksi jenisbaling-baling (propeller). Keistimewaannya adalah sudut sudugeraknya (runner) bisa diatur (adjustable blade) untukmenyesuaikan dengan kondisi aliran saat itu yaitu perubahandebit air. Pada pemilihan turbin didasarkan pada kecepatanspesifiknya. Turbin Kaplan ini memiliki kecepatan spesifik tinggi(high spesific speed). Turbin kaplan bekerja pada kondisi headrendah dengan debit besar .Pada perancangan turbin Kaplan ini meliputiperancangan komponen utama turbin Kaplan yaitu sudu gerak(runner), sudu pengarah (guide vane), spiral casing , draft tubedan mekanisme pengaturan sudut bilah sudu gerak. Pemilihanprofil sudu gerak dan sudu pengarah yang tepat untukmengasilkan torsi yang besar. Perancangan spiral casing dandraft tube menggunakan persamaan empiris . Perancanganmekanisme pengatur sudut bilah (β) sudu gerak denganmemperkirakan besar sudut putar maksimum sudu gerakberdasarkan jumlah sudu, debit air maksimum dan minimum.Turbin Kaplan ini dirancang untuk kondisi head 4 m dan debit 5m³/s.Akhirnya dari hasil perancangan turbin Kaplan inididapatkan dimensi dari komponen utama turbin yangdiwujudkan ke dalam bentuk gambar kerja dua dimensi.

It’s special is the latticeangle of the runner blade that can be adjusted to fit with the flowconditions in that time that is the changes with the watercapacity. The selection of the turbine is based on the specificspeed. Kaplan turbine has high spesific speed. blade. Selecting correct profile of the runner blade and guidevane can produce big torque. Designing spiral casing and drafttube using empirical equations. Designing mechanism toadjust runner blade with estimation maximum lattice anglerunner blade based on number of runner blade, maximum andminimum capacity. This kaplan turbine was designed to the head4 m and capacity 5 m³/s.The Finally from the result of the kaplan turbine design,we got the dimension of main components presented in the formof two dimensional drawing.
