ALIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
The end of the high voltage lead
should
be securely taped and kept away Irom the
chassis.
Do not remove the horizon tal oscillator
tube
to disable the
high voltage.
Connect a
short
between
pins
1 and 12 of the
picture
tube
socket
to
complete
the
f i l a m e n t string.
The toner
chasslVil insulated
f r o m the main
chassis
and is connected to the
c o m m o n negative line
n the receiver. The
metal shield
partitions
between
the tuner
switch
wafers is a convenient
point
of
connection
for the
instrument ground
leads.
Use
an iso
ation transformer
to
protect
the
test
equipment.
Connect the negative lead of a 4.5
volt
battery to the junction of H I and R76, positive to B-, and
adjust
the contrast control to read -2.7 volts on a V T V M

horizontal input
of the oscilloscope lor hori.ontal deflection.
Detune
A5 and A6 by turning the
cores
out of the
coils, fully counter-clockwise).
