On each of my four photos here I have focused on objects well and used the light coming from one direction. However I don’t like how the backgrounds are not all one colour. I think the photos would be more effective if they were all white or black. In the bottom right photo there is a bone next to the dog which distracts you from the main object.

In the picture on the bottom right there is a bucket in the background which catches more attention than the actual subject of the picture.

Non of these photos are very bright so the camera should be set to a different light setting. The lens is also not very well focused so in my next shoot I will need to improve on focusing the main subject of the photo more accurately.

In the bottom right photo the carpet has some marks on it which should be edited off. There are also objects in the background which don’t help define the main object.

The lens is focused well on the guitar on both of these pictures, however the guitar reflects some of the lights which makes the photo look less effective. This could be edited out or the photo should have been taken at a different time of the day.

The dream catcher image could have been focused on a lot better. I think the picture should have been made brighter.

In the photo in the top left corner I have focused on the bone and blurred out the dog in the back ground to suggest the emotion of abandonment.

The photo in the top right is quite blurry. This could be improved by focusing the camera better and using the setting necessary.

I think I have focused well on the dogs eyes on the bottom right corner which makes the photo more effective. On the other hand I think that all 4 picture would be more effective with a plain, one coloured background.

On the top left picture I think the way the dogs eyes are defined is very effective. I also think that the background has too many colours. Maybe if the background was made black and white and the dog the same colour it would draw more attention to the dog.

I took this picture (top right) at a more unusual angle for a better effect.

These two bottom pictures are very similar however I think that the light coming from the TV slightly ruins the photo as it reflects off the dogs fur.

ImprovementsIn my next shoot I aim to improve:

• Focusing the camera on the correct object• The amount of light on the main object and the

brightness of the photo• The colours in the backgrounds of the photos

• Edits and effects (changing colours)
