iner for reference as soon as they are received in the centre in order to prepare for the preparatory supporting studies. T
his will provide the opportunity for centres to incorporate the Externally Set A
ssignment and
the preparatory study period into their course structure. There is no fi xed period for the preparatory w
ork. Centres are free to structure the
supporting studies in any way they choose over the year. H
owever, the date chosen for the eight hour (A
S) or twelve hour (A
2) test must allow
suffi cient tim
e for the work to be ready for external m
