GC2: Ideas

This is the overall sketch idea for the taxi rank, we are working on Rosario’s taxi rank. I am personally working on the counter for the show.

Set Justification:

Taxi sign: Page 18 (mechanic won’t fix another engine until next month).

Implies that Rosario’s have no money:

• We will build a box and use the laser cutter to cut out “Rosario’s Taxi” we will put lights in the box and use wood to back off one or two letters, as though they can’t afford to fix the electric.

Colours: the sign will be black and yellow, because they are typical New York taxi sign.

• National Lottery posters/Pepsi poster

• Salon

• Shop

• Taxi advertising, places to visit

Page 41: Stage direction (Usnavi is checking Lottery Numbers) shows the lottery would be advertised.

Page 5: (Daniela and Carl, from the salon)-Salon advertising.

Page 26: (Can I get some Pepsi and some packing tape?) shows product placement, justifies the advertising. Page 29: (intersection of 10th avenue) shows maps and taxi advertising would be used. This will be made out of card and paper.

Moveable counter

Director’s request: moveable and able to go behind (hinged section).

Wood with casters painted brown and covered with promotional posters.

Tyres

Page 18: (mechanic won’t fix another engine until next month.)

Shows cars may be falling apart, tyres outside piled up.

Trash cans

Stereotypical Washington heights props, requested
