Represented RusHydro on a joint venture with JSC Electric power stations (Kyrgyzstan) providing for construction of four hydro power plants in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Advised RusHydro in connection with a strategic alliance and joint venture with Voith.

Advised RusHydro in connection with a strategic alliance and joint venture with Alstom.

Georgian Co-Investment Fund

Advising on a joint venture with Georgian Co-Investment Fund for developing and operating a hydropower plant.

INFRASTRUCTURE/ POWER

NORD STREAM AG

Advised on a submarine gas pipeline to link Russia and Germany via the Baltic Sea concerning the legal aspects of construction of the Russian component of the underwater gas pipeline between Russia and Germany along the Baltic Sea bed. This included international law, environmental aspects, re-categorisation of forest and agricultural land, liaisons with government authorities, permission documentation, construction, permits and authorisations and licences.

Sheremetyevo International Airport

Advised Sheremetyevo International Airport (Moscow) on syndicated lending for terminal reconstruction purposes, covering: financing, loan collateral, antimonopoly regulation, public tenders, construction, lease and infrastructure.

Acting for borrowers Guardian Industries Advised Guardian Industries on receiving a RUB 4.3bn loan facility from the EBRD.

MLPAdvised MLP (as borrower) in relation to construction loans for development of three warehouses in the Moscow region and Leningrad region.

Acting for banks EurohypoAdvised Eurohypo on refinancing of five Marriot and Holiday Inn hotels in Moscow, refinancing of Aurora, Legion I, Chaika and Capital Plaza business centres in Moscow.

Aareal BankAdvised Aareal bank on refinancing of the Ritz Carlton in Moscow, refinancing of the Horus office portfolio later purchased by O1 Properties.

Thames Water

Advising on construction, procurement and related issues associated with the £2.4bn Tideway project to construct a new sewage outflow tunnel under the Thames.

Advising on the 50:50 joint venture with Land Securities to develop the “Walkie Talkie” building at 20 Fenchurch Street. The proposed 37 storey building will include approximately 690,000 sq ft of world class space with a skygarden on the top three floors. Completion of the project is anticipated in 2014.

Hongkong Land

Advising Hongkong Land, a subsidiary of Jardine Matheson Holdings, in all aspects of the bidding, acquisition, construction and development of an integrated luxury retail project in the central shopping district of Beijing. Upon completion, the RMB 6bn Wangfujing International Brandname Center shall have a total gross floor area of 130,000m2, housing a brand name retail centre and a luxury hotel complex.

Blackstone

Advised on the real estate and tax matters relating to their joint venture with British Land. This deal saw Blackstone acquire 50% of British Land’s interests in Broadgate, the 30 acre City of London office estate, creating a £2.31bn joint venture.

Allianz

Advised Allianz Real Estate Germany on their acquisition of the office building “Sky Office” at Kennedydamm in Düsseldorf. The 33,000m² office is one of the few high rise towers in Düsseldorf and was sold by a subsidiary of ORCO Germany S.A.

The Bank of Scotland

Acted for the Bank of Scotland in refinancing of over 40 properties owned by Kandahar Real Estate Limited, a joint venture between Morgan Stanley Real Estate and the Kandahar Trust.

Advised the Football Association on construction of the National Football Centre and relocation of the FA from Soho Square to Wembley Stadium.

Propinvest

Advised Propinvest on financing its EUR 1.9 bn acquisition of the Global Headquarters complex of Banco Santander in Madrid, the largest ever single European real estate acquisition.
