Appendix A Seismic fortification intensity, design basic acceleration
of ground motion and design earthquake grouping of main cities and
towns in China
In this appendix, it only provides the seismic fortification intensity, design basic acceleration
of ground motion and design earthquake classification adopted by counties of various levels and
the central area of cities and towns above the county level when making seismic design of
construction projects.
Note: In this appendix, “design seismic group , and ” is named “group , and
” for short.
A.0.1 Capital and municipality directly under the central government
1. With seismic fortification intensity being 8 degree, and design basic acceleration of ground
motion being 0.20g:
Beijing (11 municipal districts besides Changpin an Men Tougou), Pinggu, Daxing, Yanqing,
Ninghe, Hangu.
2. With seismic fortification intensity being 7 degree, and design basic acceleration of ground
