Grace’s Story Grace had previously had an abortion with complications

and thought she was unable to have children. When she

found out she was pregnant she planned to abort again.

She came here and received counseling "the lady talked

to me and changed my mind." On April 21st she had a

beautiful boy; his name means "now I have been

favored." As she was telling me she teared up said

"Thank God for this place" repeatedly. She loves her son.

Though it is hard being a single mother she has a

supportive church family. She had many basic needs (like

a blanket and mittens) for her son and was extremely

grateful for the material support. She was sweet and

without prompting tried not to take too much "so the

other mother's will have something." She is active at

church and plans to raise her son to know Jesus; we

discussed living life according to His Word.

Lorena distributes literature and tracts at the August 8th Health Fair at Trinity Church

Church Orange NJ on May 29th.

Cindy’s Story Gateway Elizabeth

volunteer Monica writes: ‘A young mother

of 3 (1 month girl, 3 year old boy and 7 year

old girl) came in for material support (free

gift). I had actually been her counselor back

in April. She was recently evicted then and

on bed rest. Welfare has placed them in a

motel, but she had run into many

bureaucratic paperwork issues (food stamps

cut while she was in surgery, struggle to get

the papers needed for WIC, etc.). She never

knows where the next meal will come from

to feed the 5 of them in 1 room. She has

called all the nearby food pantries, but has

been struggling to hold on to the hope that

it'll get better. She believes in God, but is

not a Christian. I explained the hope we can

have in Jesus!

One of the things she desired was a stroller

because the car seat carrier is so heavy to get

around. Last week a stroller in a pattern

matching her car seat had been donated; it

fit the carrier perfectly!! Also, her 3 year old

had been borrowing the infants' diapers and

in God's providence we had pull ups in his

size. I told her this is not coincidence, but

God at work in her life. Now that He has her

attention, I told her that one of His biblical

names is Jehovah Jireh, the provider. He

wants to provide for her physical needs, but

even more her spiritual needs. I told her how

we all sin and need to be cleansed, but can

never achieve this on our own. She was very

grateful and in tears. We prayed and though

she did not make a commitment today He

planted and will water the seed.‘

It's not too early to place reservations for
