Gateway Mental Health Association Project Worker - Community Employment Position (19.5 hours per week) This is a Community Employment Position please check with your eligibility and apply via your local INTREO office. Job advertised on www.jobsireland.ie Job Description o Work alongside people with lived experience of mental health issues for positive mental health, recovery and inclusion in the community o Work with and support the Gateway members to develop a member led community mental health resource and drop in centre o Work to facilitate and encourage peer support, peer modelling, active membership and leadership within Gateway MHA. o Work with Gateway members and the Gateway Team to plan and organise the Gateway drop in centre and its activities o Work together with Gateway members to organise social and cultural activities o Take part in Team meetings to help plan and develop Gateway MHA. o Advertise and promote Gateway MHA through outreach work and other activities o Any other duties/responsibilities as agreed with the Co-ordinator of Gateway MHA Person Specification - (type of skills, abilities and qualities that we are looking for in a person for the job) Essential o Lived experience of and/or interest in mental health and recovery o Enthusiastic, friendly and empowering approach o Good communication skills, including listening skills and presentation skills o Ability to motivate, encourage and support o Willingness and ability to work within a team o Leadership skills o Organisational skills Desirable o Previous experience of working in a community project /social care setting o Computer Skills Information Session in Gateway on Monday 11 th May at 5pm Applications to be submitted via INTREO during 15 th – 29 th May 2015 Closing date: Friday 29 th May 2015 Short listing will apply for this position.
