The Gateway Architectural Lighting Series offers a variety of styles designed to accentarchitectural settings and meet the needs of extreme environments. These fixtures offersuperior performance, provide uniform illumination, and improve visibility forcommercial and institutional public use facilities.

APPEARANCEStrong geometric elements on Gateway fixtures complement both interior and exterior buildingdesign. Available in round and oval shapes, Gateway provides four distinct bezel designs fora wide array of attractive looks to enhance the space.

PERFORMANCEThe versatile Gateway series accepts a large selection of lamp choices — compact fluorescentand H.I.D. — to provide uniform area illumination to improve visibility for safe and securepublic access.

ENDURANCEBuilt to a higher standard of strength and enclosure, Gateway fixtures use die-cast aluminumand injection molded polycarbonate enclosures to help withstand the effects of time. TheseGateway products carry a lifetime warranty:

Rough Service products by Lithonia Lighting are engineered to withstand extreme physicalassault. When properly installed per instructions for maximum vandal resistance, any RoughService lighting fixture utilizing a polycarbonate lens and/or polycarbonate housing enclosurethat is rendered inoperable as a result of physical abuse, will be repaired or replaced withoutcharge for the life of the product.

The Gateway Architectural Lighting Series incorporates classic styling and rugged constructioncharacteristics to perform and survive in the toughest of environments.

Low profile backplates and deep housings are designed to mount over an outlet box. Deephousings also have threaded openings for conduit entry. For rough service installations, the useof four-hole mounting is recommended.

Die-cast aluminum bezels are available with either glass or polycarbonate lenses, and aresecured to the low profile backplate or deep housing with concealed fasteners. Lens gasketingand mounting pad gaskets help seal out dust, moisture and insects while cushioning againstimpact shock.

Polycarbonate lenses feature an integral perimeter channel for continuous "O" ring siliconegaskets. Borosilicate glass lenses are sealed by means of neoprene gaskets applied tobackplates or housings.

Finishes are electrostatically applied, thermally set, textured polyester powder coat to stand upto environmental effects. A virtually limitless color pallet provides the exact look for theapplication. See the Lithonia Lighting Architectural Colors brochure for specifications anddetails.

A broad selection of compact fluorescent lamps is available; lamps are included with fixture. These lamps feature (see details on page 11):

Bezel: One-piece, die-cast aluminum, marine grade alloy(<1% copper), .125 inch thick, encloses lens and securesto backplate with concealed stainless steel Torx® setscrews (two included) or optional stainless-steel tamper-resistant fasteners (see Options, page 11).

Backplate: 16-gauge steel backplate is post painted withblack polyester powder coat. Internal reflectors provideuniform surface brightness and maximum light output.Backplate features four-hole mounting pattern formaximum vandal resistance. Factory installed full padmounting gasket is closed-cell neoprene to seal againstmounting surface and help cushion against impact shock.

Housing: Die-cast aluminum, marine grade alloy (<1%copper) is .125 inch thick. H.I.D. reflector is semi-specularaluminum for uniform surface brightness and maximumlight output. Multi-lamp compact fluorescent reflectorassures smooth surface brightness and maximum lightoutput. Pad mounting gasket is closed-cell neoprene toseal against mounting surface and help cushion againstimpact shock.

Finish: Standard finish is textured polyester powder coat(see listing, page 11). For additional colors, consult theLithonia Lighting Architectural Colors brochure.

Polycarbonate lens: Translucent white, injection-molded UVstabilized lens is .125 inch thick. Smooth exterior allowsfor easy cleaning, and interior pattern diffuses light foreven surface illumination. Perimeter lens gasket is one-piece silicone "O" ring, retained in continuous lenschannel.

Glass lens: Tempered borosilicate glass is .250 inch thick,has smooth exterior for easy cleaning and diffuse texturedinterior surface. Perimeter lens gasket is continuous closed-cell neoprene.

Ballast: Fluorescent ballast is Class P, electronic, highpower factor, <10% THD, with starting temperature of 0°F(-18°C). Exception is 13W TT, electromagnetic ballast,normal power factor, 32°F (0°C) starting temperature,120 volt only. H.I.D. ballast is high reactance, high powerfactor, with starting temperature of -20°F (-30°C) for metalhalide, and -40° for high pressure sodium.

Socket: Fluorescent socket is high temperaturethermoplastic with integral lamp retention clip. H.I.D.socket is medium base porcelain with copper alloy, nickelplated screw shell and center contact. UL listed 660W,600V, 4kV pulse rated.

Lamp(s): All fixtures are furnished standard with lamp(s),unless otherwise specified (L/LP).

Listings: UL listed for wet locations. IP65 rated. CSA listedor NOM certified (see Options, page 11).

IP65 Rat ing: The International E l ec t ro t echn i ca lCommission (IEC) is an international standards body,much like the National Electrical ManufacturersAssociation (NEMA) in the U.S. IEC has established setrating standards and a labeling system to identify thedegree of protection that equipment possesses or providesagainst foreign elements. The degree of protection isdesignated by the letters "IP" (International Protection)followed by two characteristic numerals. The first numeraldesignates the degrees of protection against contact andforeign bodies, and the second numeral designates thedegrees of protection against ingress of water.

In "IP65" the first numeral (6) designates "Protectionagainst ingress of dust." [This is the highest ratingavailable.] The second numeral (5) designates "Protectionagainst jets of water." [Except for floodwater or beingimmersed in water, this is the highest rating used.]

MVOLT: Multi-volt electronic ballasts (for DTT and TRTlamps) operate on any line voltage from 120 to 277.These ballasts are also capable of powering multiple lamptypes (13W - 42W), and include programmed startingand lamp end-of-life detection. Single-lamp and two-lampmodels are available.

Torx® Fasteners: These tamper-resistant screws are used tosecure the Gateway series bezels to their respectivebackplate or housing. Two types are offered: standard isthe T10 recessed set screw (two are included with eachfixture). Optional is the TX20 buttonhead screw withcenter-pin reject for additional tamper resistance. Bothtypes are provided in stainless steel. NOTE: A uniqueTorx screwdriver is required for each respective type (seeAccessories, page 11).

Emergency Lighting: Deep housing compact fluorescent lamp(CFL) fixtures are available with an integral emergencybattery system, UL listed for wet locations, up to a 42WTRT lamp; 32°F (0°C) rating.

Integrity: Thorough and extensive testing of the Gatewayseries includes thermal, moisture, salt fog, photometricand impact resistance. These rigorous procedures andmeasurements allow Lithonia Lighting to stand behind ourRough Service Lifetime Warranty.
