SINCE 1968, GateWay Community College has built a legacy of innovation, pioneering vision and responsiveness to the needs of our community with many firsts—the first technical college in Arizona; first to use community advisory committees; first to tailor courses to the needs of business and industry; and first to offer classes at off-campus locations. Today, we continue to evolve our institution and have added the SouthWest Skill Center to the Trade and Technical Training Division, formerly Maricopa Skill Center. The alignment of all Trade and Technical Training programs under one college allows for better coordination and cohesion of clock hour offerings throughout the Maricopa Community Colleges. In 2016, GateWay fully integrated operations with the Maricopa Skill Center and united under one name, with three distinct areas — University Transfer, Professional and Technical Education, and Trade and Technical Training — at three campuses — Central City, Deer Valley and Washington campuses.

The Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation was re-aligned with GateWay Community College in Fall 2016 and continues to serve small business and entrepreneurs in bioscience, medical devices, clean technology and software.

WE OFFER comprehensive academic and occupational/professional programs, as well as trade and technical training. With 150 degree, certificate, workforce training and university transfer options, we are equipped to find the best fit for students.

VISION GateWay Community College—a college for the community—works collectively and responsibly to meet the life-long learning needs of our diverse students and community.

MISSION GateWay Community College provides access to higher education for diverse students and communities. We focus learning through

• University Transfer • General Education • Developmental Education • Workforce Development • Student Development Services • Continuing Education • Community Education • Civic Responsibility • Global Engagement
