A Message from the President
Hi folks, Hard to believe it is time for our annual holiday party! So it is time to cook or shop for a snack food. There will also be an opportunity to shop for boutique items at our December meeting. It has been an honor and a privilege to be your president this year. Surprisingly, I found it to be fun and easy. Here is a secret: being president is the best job in the guild. It is amazingly easy BECAUSE YOU ARE SUCH A GREAT GROUP. Really. If everyone does what they say they will do, and in this wonderful guild they do, the president just shows up! Amazing. Remember that next year when the guild is looking for new officers. Being president is easy and fun. So, thank you for the opportunity to serve as your president. Thank you to all officers and committee members who made this year so successful. And thanks to all who worked on our show for making our show such a success. Remember that there is a board meeting on Tuesday, November 29 at 6:30 at the Katherine Clay Edwards library. Ruth

Gate City Quilt Guild Charity Group A big thank you to everyone who donated fabric, batting, quilts, time, and creativity to our Community Service program this year. Our grand total for 2016 will exceed 120 items. Our group also wants to thank Susanne Jordan for hosting our group meeting every month at her home. Thank you to all the members who take items home for piecing and quilting. Women's Hospital and the S.A.N.E. Program appreciate every stitch. Charity Quilting will not be meeting in December. We voted to start again on January 9th, the second Monday of January. We will meet from 9:30 to 3:30. We will break for lunch to enjoy vegetable soup. Please bring fresh (already washed and cut), canned or frozen vegetables to add to the soup or an item to go with the soup. Everyone shares in taking home the leftovers so please no meat or onions. Bowls, spoons, napkins and water are provided. Thanks again to everyone who participated this year. Sue Roth
Yard Sale Do you need more fabrics to finish up your Christmas gifts? At our upcoming December meeting, Yard Sale will be selling a huge collection of Christmas fabrics that were donated last month. At our bargain prices, it's an opportunity to stock up for next years gifts as well.

The quilt show boutique was a great success and in appreciation of all our guild members and the work you did to make the quilt show such a success we will have boutique items for sale during the party at a substantial discount. This will be a great time to pick up last minute holiday gifts and stocking stuffers for family and friends. Some of the items we have are place mats, table runners, wall hangings, items for your kitchen and a variety of quilter tools. Please join us to help celebrate the holidays, enjoy the company of our fellow quilters and take advantage of some great bargains!
Heather and Donna Pictures Needed If anyone has pictures from the quilt show, either disk or actual pictures, I am looking for the pictures to place in the Historian's Book. I especially need any pictures from the set up of the show. For example how things are unloaded from cars or trucks into the venue. Any other pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Donna Paulson
