Purpose of FBLA

“Our mission is to bring business and education together in a positive

working relationship through innovative leadership and career

development program.”

Membership Requirements

• Business Technology Department course or an Economics course this school year (fall or spring semester)

• $20 Dues• Participation– Competitive events– Fundraising– Community Service

What do FBLA Members do?

• Participate in regional, state, and national competitions and conferences

• Fundraise for charities and community events

• Service to community

Charities

• State: Twilight Wish–Making hope new and wishes come true

• National: March of Dimes–Working together for stronger, healthier

babies

Fundraisers

• Entertainment Books ($25/book)– Every member must

pick up a book from Mrs. Masishin

• Hot Chocolate– Sign up to help FBLA

sell hot chocolate on Friday morning

DUES

• $20 – October 10th

• Must pay dues before signing up for competitions

• Pay Rena in A111 during enhancement only!

• Regional: 47 awards, 31 state qualifiers

• State: 7 awards, 1 national qualifiers

• Nationals: Congrats to Charles Lu for attending the National Leadership Conference this summer in Nashville.

• Tuesday, December 9th, 2014• Springfield High School• 9:30 – 3pm• $10-$15

Competitions• pafbla.org – list of different events• “Run-offs”• Team events – 3 people• If you qualify for SLC, you will be

expected to attend – April 13-15– Excused from 3 days of school/sports

FBLA Meetings This Year…

• Attendance taken at each meeting– Be sure to turn in attendance slip today

• Meetings only once a month–Must attend to maintain membership

• Responsible to sign up for meetings on enhancement scheduler on Powerschool
