    Garlic is widely used as a healthful foodand a medicine for curing some diseasesthese days. Before it is used or eaten, itsmembrane has to be peeled off, but thework has been done by manual operationand workers have been obliged to endurethe especially biting smell of garlic.

    This invention has been devised tofurnish a kind of garlic membrane peelingmachine to automatically peeling itsmembrane.

    This garlic membrane peeling machine inthe present invention comprises a storetank, a drying funnel, connected with thebottom end of the store tank, a membrane

    peeling cylinder connected with thebottom end of the drying funnel and at theother end with a blower, and a pushdevice.

    The store tank has a round lid at the topfor pouring raw garlic bulbs therein byopening the lid, which has an exhaust tubefor air passage.

    The drying funnel has a bottom flangeconnected with the top end of the membrane

    peeling cylinder and a cone shaped guider ishung on a stabilizing rod stretched across thetop of the said cylinder. The cone shapedguider has a plurality of through holes.

    The membrane peeling cylinder has its topend connected with the bottom flange of thedrying funnel for receiving dried garlic bulbs

    coming down from said funnel. Peeledmembranes are blown out of an exhaust tubeprovided in the cylinder wall.

    The garlic membrane peeling machine inthe present invention as shown in fig. 1 &2 comprises a table, a store tank, a dryingfunnel, a membrane peeling cylinder, ablower tube and a transporting out deviceas the main components.

    The table has a flat surface board at the

    top for the mounting the store tank, ablower tank and a control plate at thefront end, a hole in the board for thedrying funnel to fit in it.

    The store tank has a round lid securedat the top by means of two hinges andtwo toggle clamps. An exhaust tube isfixed at the lid. The drying funnel is shaped as a

    funnel having an outer layer and aninner layer provided with a plurality ofsmall through hole. Between the innerlayer and the outer layer is provided anaperture for hot air to pass through andthen through the small holes into theinterior of the funnel. A cone shaped

    A hot air tube is connected at one endwith a blower tube extending out of ablower and at the other end with the side

    wall of the outer layer of the drying.Additionally, a temperature controller ismounted at the front end of the blower toadjust the temperature of the hot air.

    The membrane peeling cylinder has itstop end connected with the flange of thedrying funnel provided with a plurality of

    A worm is set on the top end of the cone

    shaped lid extending upward into the dryingfunnel and a silicon rubber ring is provided atthe bottom end of the inner layer for the coneshaped lid to fit in to stop garlic bulbs in thedrying funnel. The garlic bulbs can be blown byhelical air current to peel outer driedmembranes off the bulbs, and the peeled offmembranes are exhausted through an exhausttube by the helical air current. The peeled garlicbulbs are temporarily accumulated on thebottom plate.

    After raw garlic bulbs are poured in thestore tank, they pass by along the coneshaped guider into the drying funneltemporarily staying therein to be dried byhot air coming from the blower, as thebottom exit of the drying funnel is blockedby the cone shaped lid.

    When the garlic bulbs in the drying funnelhave been dried, the pressure cylinder is

    operated to pull its piston rod down to pullthe cone-shaped lid down leaving thebottom exit of the drying funnel as shownin fig so that the dried garlic bulbs may fall

    down in the membrane peeling cylinder.

    The membrane peeling cylinder is providedwith a plurality of nozzle valves properly spacedapart in the lower circumferential wall. Thus,compressed air coming from a compressor canbe sent through the nozzle valves connectedwith nozzle tubes and the compressed air canbecome helical air current in the cylinder sothat the garlic bulbs therein may be forced toroll and rub against one another so that the

    dried garlic membranes can be peeled offautomatically and be exhausted out of themouth of the exhaust tube which has a curvedguide plate to guide the membrane bits out of

    the tube.

    Then peeled garlic bulbs are accumulatedtemporarily on the bottom plate which canbe moved open by a pressure cylinder andmake said garlic bulbs to fall down on thetransporting inclined board and the wholeautomatic peeling process is thuscompleted.

    It automatically completes the process ofpouring in raw garlic bulbs, drying, peelingtheir membranes and transporting outwith little breaking percentage and highefficiency.

    It has a compact dimension andconvenience for transportation.
