Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry

IT is with great pleasure that my wife and I invite you to Boughton House and Gardens, home to my Montagu ancestors since 1528.

The House is famous for its internationally renowned collection of fine art, furniture, tapestries, porcelain and carpets and isfull of fascinating history. Boughton also has some of thebest-preserved baroque State Rooms in the British Isles. Here you can walk through grand apartments of contrasting character decorated in extravagant yet elegant taste.

Beyond the House you’ll find beautiful 18th-century landscaped gardens, woodlands and a grand country park unlike any other. We hope you enjoy the peace and serenityof these areas of the Estate, including the magnificentGrand Etang, or Great Lake, and its fountain.

My family and I wish you thewarmest of welcomes.
