Jersey) Stay straight to go onto RT-90 E RT-90 E becomes RT-73 S Turn right onto Clover Rd. Turn right onto Church Rd. Take the 1st left onto Springdale Rd
Purpose of the Trip This trip is a hands-on experience for
students and fits in to many of the science categories. Earth Science because there is a section where
the students can see the phases of the moon. Life Science because there is a section that
deals with animals, humans and plants. Physical Science because there is a section
called “The Science Shop,” this is where the students can see the periodic table. Also, talks about Newton's theories of gravity and motion.
Health because there is a section where the students can play doctor and a veterinarian.
Programs that are offered T-Rex the Turtle. Grades: Pre-K
A fun and interactive play Celia the Colorful Cow. Grades: K-3
Learn the colors of the rainbow as you take a musical journey around her land of color and light
Curly the Caterpillar. Grades: K-2 Curly has searched high and low and cannot find her family! But if you can dance and
crawl around, or make funny noises, then you are ready to help her through her magical story of metamorphosis.
Discovering Dinosaurs. Grades: K-4 Join Dr. Al O. Saurus as you become a paleontologist for day and dig into the world of
these mysterious creatures! Learn about what dinosaurs ate, how they defended themselves, and who really ruled the earth! We’ll also discover why they became extinct
Down the Shore. Grades Pre-K-2 Catch a wave and explore the Jersey Shore with Sandy Trunks! We’ll comb the beach
and swim the ocean as we discover the many creatures you might run into “on the way to Cape May!”
Stuffee: Your Amazing Body. Grades K-4 Discover the stuff you’re really made of with this fun filled anatomy lesson! Meet
Stuffee, our seven-foot, blue haired friend from Gift of Life who turns his insides outside just for you. Learn all about nutrition and how to stay healthy with this guy-sy guy!
Programs that are offered Cont’d. Bubble Magic: The Science of Suds. Grades: Pre-K-3
Why are bubbles round? Why can we see colors in them? Find out in this fun-filled workshop where we float through the world of science. You’ll even discover what it’s like inside a giant bubble!
Sensations. Grades: Pre-K-2 Explore just how sensational you are with our unique blend of hands-on activities
and mini science experiments. Students will learn about their world through the five senses and see how important they are in everyday life.
Music Mania. Grades: K-3 Hear, Hear, friends, lend us your ears! In this science workshop, you’ll hear how
different materials effect sound and even create your own instrument. Learning and fun in total harmony!
Kitchen Chemistry. Grades: 1-4 Join our resident made scientist as you perform fun (and safe!) science
experiments with everyday kitchen supplies. We will be opening up our cabinets to concoct some creative delights.
Planet Pirates. Grades: K-4 Ahoy there, maties! Calling all land lovers to learn their three Rrr’s: Reduce,
Reuse, Recycle! Not only do the Planet Pirates protect and preserve planet Earth, they create and keep their own “green” treasure.

Important Group Information All organized groups must consist of 10
people or more. All organized groups will be charged for a minimum of 10 people regardless of head count upon arrival.
To properly accommodate groups, advance reservations are required.
Chaperone Policy Garden State Discovery Museum asks that for
every 4 children there is one adult chaperone to ensure the best experience for all visitors.
For every 4 children visiting one adult chperone is REQUIRED and will be admitted free of charge.
Chaperones must be at least 18, and must remain with the children at all times.
Extra adults: $5.00 each
Food and Beverages Reserve an indoor room for one half hour for $.50
per child, or an outdoor space at no charge, weather permitting.
A lunchroom will be provided free of charge for groups who reserve a workshop.
Large groups may be asked to eat in shifts depending on room availability.
Brown bag lunches are welcome and will be placed in your assigned lunchroom.
No food or beverages are to be taken onto the museum floor or into the Discovery Theater.

Other Information There is plenty of free parking. Buses are required to drop passengers off on Pin Road and
park in the rear parking lot. All groups must enter through the front entrance and check
in at the front desk. Hours of Operation Mon - 9:30am – 5:30pm Tue - 9:30am – 5:30pm Wed - 9:30am – 5:30pm Thu - 9:30am – 5:30pm Fri - 9:30am – 5:30pm Sat - 9:30am – 5:30pm* Sun - 9:30am – 5:30pm *Saturday hours are 9:30am – 8:30pm from October through
April every year.
