IntroductionIntroductionIn early years, the computer science programmers

developed the phrase “Garbage In, Garbage Out,” (GIGO).    Meaning whatever you program into the computer is what you’re going to get out.  Therefore, our minds work according to the GIGO principle.  The kinds of things we watch, read, listen to and think about will affect the way we talk, feel, relate and live.

So think of that when we watch TV, read a book, or listen to music…Our minds work like computers where we are able to store unbelievable amounts of information for instance remembering student who bulled you, the reason why you were beaten ….

Cont Cont That is why when you put GARBAGE into your mind

and life, garbage will COME OUT.  When you put GOOD THINGS into your mind and life, then good things will FLOW OUT.  Your mind matters and what you put into your mind will ultimately make the difference between PEACE and DISTRACTION.

What we put into our minds is exactly what we get out.   It is common knowledge that computers cannot output something that it was not programmed to do.   So, what goes in is what comes out.  Same is true with our minds.

Cont Cont Therefore, what example are you leaving for the

children in your circle of influence, be it your own son or daughter, granddaughter or grandson, brother or sister, those that you coach on the field, or those that you teach in the classroom?  Our children are greatly influenced by their peers/parent’s/teachers/ members in the society!

Our minds are a powerful source of positive energy.  If we take the advice of Paul in Romans 12:2, which says “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”  To test and approve God’s perfect will we need to take Paul’s advise. The Bible also tells us to

that; “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things.” 

I know some of you are saying, with all this pain, suffering,… Yes sometimes life is tough and the only way to survive is to have Jesus in your life. As Christians, we face different problems daily not that God wants to punish us BUT He just want to test our faith. Thus, we need to be careful about what we expose ourselves to and let’s not waste our life with less than what God has to offer for us.

Biblical Illustration Biblical Illustration Job teaches us that human suffering may be caused by

many things. Because we suffer does not necessarily mean God is angry with us. It does not necessarily mean we are being punished for our sins. The book of Job deals with a question which has troubled men in all ages for instance;

Why do bad things happen to good people?Why does God allow us to suffer if He really loves us

and we are faithful to Him? This kind of questioning is for non- belivers. David

cautioned us in Psalm 19:14 that; “May the Words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.”

ContContTrue we have seen this many times from our

society. Similarly, the Bible says Job was a good family man. Even though he lived in an age when it was common for a man to have many wives, he had only one Job 2:9. This implies Job had respect for God’s original marriage law which was given in the beginning Genesis 2: 21-24; Mathew 19:3-9. and he was blessed with a large family of seven sons and three daughters.

He was the greatest of all the people of the East, Job 1:3. He had thousands of sheep, camels, donkeys, and oxen.

Cont Cont Job was blameless and upright, and one who feared

God and shunned evil, Job 1:1. He could wake up early in the morning to offer sacrifices to God on behalf of his children, Job 1:5 and God held up Job as a good servant. He asked Satan “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil,” Job 1:8.

Satan also suggested to God that the only reason Job served Him was because God blessed him. He said that Job would curse God if God take away His blessings.

Cont Cont Because of Gods’ power He (God) gave Satan

permission to test Job. He only gave one restriction to Satan of not harming Job himself, Job 1:9-12. Satan tempted Job by taking away all his wealth. Then he sent a storm which killed all of Job’s children at one time. Job did not curse God as Satan had said he would. He worshiped God and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord,” Job 1:21-22

Satan afflicted Job with sores which covered his entire body. Job had lost his possessions, his children, and now his health was taken away. Job’s wife told him to Curse God and die but he replied, “Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” Job 2:9. Job continued to trust in God and refused to blame God for his problems.

What lessons do we learn from Jobs’ life?What lessons do we learn from Jobs’ life?If one truly has faith in God, he will remain faithful to God no

matter what happens. He may not understand what is happening, or why. But he will trust God because God loves us and knows what is best for us, Romans 8:28

Satan does not have unlimited power over us, God is stronger. He will not allow Satan to cause us to do anything that we do not want to do. God will not allow Satan to take away our power to choose between right and wrong.

Satan may use other people to discourage us. In Job’s case, Satan used his wife and his three friends. We must always put God first, even before our closest friends and relatives Mathew 10:37

We need to have patience as Job did. We must learn to endure the hardships of life James 5:11. We must remember that in the end, God’s people will win.

Conclusion Conclusion Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, we need to tell God

exactly how we feel. By pouring our heart to Him. Job did this when he said , “I cant be quite! I am angry and bitter. I have to speak!’, Job7:11. regardless of the circumstances and how you feel, God can handle your doubt, anger, confusion, fear, un restlessness, grief, questions, …He did it o Job that is why Job still found things he could praise GOD for; That God is good and loving, Job10:12; He is all powerful, Job 42:3; He notices every details of my life Job 23:10; He is in control Job 34:13 and has a plan for my life Job 23:14.
