Gantt chart for Guest Check-in and Check-out process at the hotel

At the point of arrival, the luggage is unloaded, carted and moved into the lobby as the guest moves towards the reception desk. It is at this point the check-in process actually start.

Check-in

Personal Information & Security Deposit collection: At this point the receptionist greets you in the hotel. After this starts the real information collection which follows a series of question like:

A security deposit of Rs. 2000 is collected at that point of time.

Luggage check-in in the room: After collection of the information, roomboy carries luggage to the room before the guests arrive.

Room Service: Guest is prompted for a tea or coffee after the guest settles in the room.

Check-out

Resolving outstanding guest account balances: The accounts in the name of guests are cleared before he/she finally moves out. These items generally include meals, adjusting security deposit etc. It takes about 10 minutes.

Updating room status information: Once the account is settled, room status is set to vacant and keys are collected. It is carried out in parallel with the above activity.

Feedback: Guests are given a small feedback form to survey the overall experience of the stay. These feedbacks are seriously implemented in day to day proceedings, to make overall experience better each time. It takes about 5 minutes.

Housekeeping: Once guest moves out of the room, it is the turn of the housekeeping staff to clean the room, replace used bed sheets, quilts etc. This activity takes near 30 minutes.
