    Hole and Blockage DetectorThe Acoustic Ranger 5000 device detects holes, blockages, erosion and corrosion in tubes and pipes. The device emits a sound pulse which runs along the inside of the pipe, following it around bends and even complex spirals.     The Pocket CORPAC combines an industry staple in non-intrusive corrosion testing with the portable convenience made possible by the latest in Acoustic Emission (AE) technology. The Pocket CORPAC detects active localized corrosion in a variety of industrial structures and materials before costly and dangerous effects can be seen or felt. Pocket CORPAC can tell customers when corrosion is active, what to do to decrease or stop it, and if those solutions are ultimately working. Pocket CORPAC detects a variety of localized corrosion mechanisms. Most importantly, it provides the only early-stage detection capability of corrosion effects like micro-cracks, pitting and micro-delamination. Besides the Pocket CORPAC, no other traditional or advanced non-destructive testing options exist in the field to identify such corrosion effects due to their limited size detectability.     DiSP-24 : 24 Channel, Digital AE instrument which includes PAC R15I integral preamp sensors with built-in self diagnostics capability (Auto Sensor Testing) and 30 meter cables.     PowerPAC Acoustic Emission Testing Technology Package

    PowerPAC is an Acoustic Emission (AE) technology package for testing power transformers. An on-line monitoring procedure was developed under an EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute) sponsored and tailored collaboration with Physical Acoustics Corp. (Project I.D. No. 051481). This collaboration refined the package with three phases of program develoment resulting in on-line monitoring of power transformers to detect, locate and assess electrical and thermal faults.AE sensors are installed on the transformer covering both the tank and the LTC compartment (if one is present) along with sensors to monitor pump current, fan current, load current, tank wall tempera-ture and LTC compartment wall temperature collecting data for comparison with the AE data during post test data analysis. In order to observe the effects of a complete load cycle, data is collected over a period of 24 hours. Results are presented showing the location (in 3-D) and types of faults. A grading system is used for each fault and provides an overall evaluation of the transformer for maintenance or operation planning.

  • Loose Parts Monitoring Equipment (LPME)

    LPME monitors, detects and evaluates metallic loose parts in reactor systems using transient acoustic signal analysis. Acoustic sensors/accelerometers are permanently located at strate-gic positions on the system being monitored (in direct contact with pipes and vessels), where loose parts are most likely to impact. The sensors detect the impact of any loose parts as they come in contact with the pipe or vessel wall. The sensors detect the mechanical vibration propagating from the point of impact and convert it into an electrical signal that is amplified by the system preamplifier, processed by the Loose Parts Monitor Equipment Data Acquisition System (LPME-DAS) and recorded by the Data Acquisition Computer (DAC). The software (LPME-DAQ) alerts the operator and control room when a loose part is detected, and provides a user-friendly interface for the operator to analyze the transients, differentiate between noise and impact signals and determine location and impact characteristics.

    The Pocket AE-2 is a high performance, computerised, dual channel Acoustic Emission (AE)system packaged in a rugged, portable handheld unit.     The TesTex, Inc TX-4400 ECT Inspection System is based on the Eddy Current Technique to quickly and accurately inspect non-ferrous metal tubing from the I.D. By using four-frequencies in a simultaneous injection mode, defects such as ID/OD pitting, baffle cutting, erosion, steam impingement, general wall thinning, etc. can be detected and sized. The system also has differential and absolute responses for each frequency, a built in reference signal to generate an absolute signal without the use of a reference probe, and real-time mixing for suppression of support/baffle plates.     The Prodigy 8C is a one man, multichannel NDT system for scanning most any boilertube/pipe from the O.D. It detects and quantifies I.D., O.D., and internal material defects in ferrous materials.     LECTROMAX 100 Series of demagnetisers include a range of standard demagnetisers in various sizes, voltages and intensities. A range of standard optional accessories is available. In addition, special purpose demagnetisers can be manufactured to suit particular applications, including high intensity air cooled types for continuous or intermittent duty. Continuous duty demagnetisers can be supplied for integrating with conveyor systems. Intermittent duty demagnetisers are fitted with a 60 second timer, which automatically controls the energised period. The timer incorporates a panel mounted digital display, which indicates the elapsed time. All LECTROMAX demagnetisers are conservatively designed for maximum operating efficiency and long life.

    Gammatec's Push/Pull Remote Control Winding Mechanism is designed for winding out isotopes on all recognized industrial gamma projectors used in gamma radiography inspection.

    The units are available in either reel or pistol-grip versions. These are of light-weightconstruction and standard accessories include inner drive cable, outer hoses, gearbox and connector fittings.

    To ensure a smooth push/pull operation, the robust and lightweight aluminium gearboxhousing incorporates two dust-proof ball races as well as a 100mm diameter gear with acable pressure spring which provides maximum contact between gear and cable at alltimes.

    Iridium-192 Radiography SourcesThe primary use of Ir.192 sealed sources is in gamma radiography. In comparison to other sealed sources used in similar applications, the film resolution produced with the use of Ir.192 provides exposure of exceptional quality which is of critical importance in the field ofnon-destructive testing.

    Sources manufactured by NTP Radioisotopes SOC Ltd are suitable for most types of radiography projectors. These Ir.192 capsules, made of stainless steel and containing high purity activated iridium, are manufactured according to strict IAEA standards and each source is welded and tested to comply with Special Form certification, also fully accredited by the IAEA in compliance with the requirements of NTP's ISO 9001:2008 certification.

    Irradiation of Iridium seeds takes place at various facilities around the world including the Safari 1 Reactor situated at Pelindaba, South Africa. NTP Radioisotopes SOC Ltd assembles Ir.192 Sealed Sources in Special Form capsules in their Hotcell facilities.

    The Sources are loaded onto pigtails for all recognised and approved Projector brands and shipped to the customer in the Projector or in specially manufactured transfer containers.
